So I am new to the game and just cannot for the life of me figure out a build that suites my play style, I usually play the more offensive Tanks in other games and All I hear is that it is one or the other in ESO, Is there a Way I can balance this out while still being able to do most of the end game content ?

What is end game content to you?

Currently, there's two forms of "End Game" content: Veteran Trials and PVP. I'm assuming you mean Veteran Trials. You can complete Veteran Trials on what we call "selfish builds" (meaning that the armor sets you wear mostly benefit you as the tank) but most competitive guilds want their end game tanks to wear specific builds.

However, if you're new to the game- it probably means that you'll be PUGing a lot. I'd recommend one tanky set and one damage set to wear while you level Undaunted Skills and progress through Dungeons.

What level are you (so that I can get an idea of what gear you can collect) and what type of DK skills interest you?

No matter what, though, if you're wanting to be a tank- I highly suggest wearing 5 pieces of heavy armor, one piece of light armor, and 1 piece of medium armor as you're pushing through ranks 1-50 and beyond. You'll want some Undaunted passives that will unlock over time.

If you're on PC/NA- hit me up. I can walk you through some mechanics.

Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

Yeah I want to mainly Focus PvE, And when i say I am new to the game I am a returning player, But I have not been on since before Morrowind Dropped so it has been some time, But I am Currently sitting at LvL 23. And as for some of the abilities, I love any game with DoT or DoT Spreading Builds, Just watching things Melt while I stand there. And yeah I am on NA/PC
I am Currently Running 5/1/1 But am yet to get the Undaunted Skill line.
Honestly If there is a better choice in Tank I am wilingl to try it but I was told DK is the best Tank atm and sort of just jumped in head first with it

In trials off-tank sometimes switch to off-dps role when second tank is not required by mechanics. Other then that even decent stats for dps won't allow you to do high dps parallel to tanking any vet content because dps requires not only stats but also rotation and abilities slotted and you don't have place on the bars for that abilities.

Currently, what you are asking for is the meta for competitive groups. I'll link a build down below that some competitive tanks use in trials. Keep in mind that this is an extremely dangerous way to play as your defenses are very low and you will die easily compared to a standart tank build.

It depends how much damage you are looking to do. You can spend all attribute points into Health if you want to be tankier. You can swap skills around, use Poison Injection instead of Green Dragon Blood etc. Keep in mind that next patch, this build will be very different. This playstyle may or may not survive, we don't know yet.

i've tried some dd-tank hybrids. Ended up with low damage (15-18k) or low survivability.

Currently the best hybrid is healer due to high magicka pool, crits, spell damage. All things that allows you to heal better, allows you to do damage as well. This rule doesn't work for tanks.
