Velidreth vs Kraghs For Stam PVE DPS

Between Velidreth and Kraghs, which would put out more raid DPS? And also is it viable to use 1 precise weapon instead of sharpened if Kraghs is being used?

Veli, not only do the pores hit some bosses 3x instead of once, but the effect is a little more versatile as you don't need to be directly in front of enemies for it to work, Kraghs has a very underwhelmingly small aoe and penetration while a very valuable 1pc trait can be met through other means.

In endgame raids with all available pen debuffs (with good uptime), you only need about 6500 base pen, even less with torugs pact crusher. It doesn't hurt to have extra pen however seeing as it's also impossible to have 100% uptime on all pen debuffs.

Ultimately it's up to you, I really enjoyed Kraghs on my stam sorc for a time until I opted for stormfist because I started caring more about theme vs function.

Yes.

For example, on a bow/bow build, some people like using Tzogvin's Warband + 1pc Kragh/ 1pc veli and a nirn/precise front bar bow. You can invest a little less in to piercing CP and spread them out more evenly since you get almost 3k pen just from your set bonuses. If you were aiming for 6.5k (see above comment) you only need about 3500 from piercing.

I know you use the word viable, but anything is viable, just be aware of what your aiming to build and for what type of group your playing with. Penetration as a trait is highly valuable until it isn't.

I'd suggest testing things out on PTS first.

Depends on the fight. If you wanna be lazy just wear Veli for everything. If you want to optimize:
1. Use Velidreth for all the bosses that can get triple hit.
2. Use Kragh for bosses which dont get Velidreth single hit, but replace a sharp dagger with a precise or nirn one.

For a raid DPS, your penetration typically is buffed through group buffs. I go with Velidreth almost all the time for the weapon damage and spores. Occasionally I will swap it out for Stormfist if I need more regen, for example in Cloudrest.

Not saying Kragh's is a poor choice, but I run the one piece more often in PVP.
