XP grind for solo players?

Hi there,

im looking for a spot where i can grind solo. So not just an open place on the map or a public dungeon. Is there anyting like that?
I tried dungeons on normal but xp suuuuck. Skyreach need few mins to reset so that out as well.
I know about the 10% xp boost in group but grinding with 2 ppl result in not having my ult up every pull so thats not worth it (in my opinion).

Hope there are places like that and i just dont know about them
Thank you in advance

Solo grind any public dungeon, preferably one where you have a potential for good drops like set pieces or rare recipies.

Really though you can get good returns dolmen farming. It’s boring but good xp and in the desert you prob won’t die.

Spellscar in craglorn has lots of mobs clustered together, and the area is huge. There are usually other people grinding there, so it's hit or miss. I solo'd 40-50 in an hour there on my sorc. It's really fast, faster than Skyreach if you can do it right. (imo)

If you're going to do a public dungeon I suggest finding one with undead/deadra etc to help with your fighter guild xp

I personally like Auridon better. All of the Dolemens are short rides from the waystations and once you see which direction they are spawning (top to bottom or bottom to top) there is no waiting on spawns. It is also good to get a bunch of jewelry to break down for mats. Almost always plenty of folks there to help out.

Edit: although I would call this more farming than grinding.

Why do people hang onto the concept of previous games "grinding"?

Exploring, doing a few Delves, grabbing a quest or two, dailies, crafting, aiding someone who asks for help killing a world boss. All grant good XP. All fun things to do, and you will level incredibly fast.

So public dungeons like rkindaleft are by now pretty bad for grinding xp. Gold grinding sure but xp got nerved.
And tbh dolmens are like the slowest grind in the world. 10cp would probably take 5h if you go for dolmen.

Spellscar is what i do but man all the other ppl are annoying xD Electro area is mostly fine but still it only needs 1 guy to *** you up...

I dont have any needs for undead/deadra fighters guild is up to 10

Why we hang on onto grinding? Becasue it is still the fastest way to get XP even when you share the spot with 10ppl^^

Basically i went to most of the grindspots you needed to use befor level scaling was a thing and non where empty so i search for a way to grind by myself like Skyreach when you could reset it solo

The problem is it draws in salty entitled types who believe Spellscar exists solely for their grinding, and anyone who might actually have to enter it for some unrelated reason is deliberately trying to interfere with them. Prepare to hear a lot of childish whining in Spellscar.

This burn trough delves getting skillpoints.
    Also nMA is good.

Dolmens works well if 3-6 players on them, not Alkir, Alinor in off hours is nice.

And I found random normals to be awesome for power leveling, with xp potion and event you get 3-4 levels each run.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The region you are looking for is called Tamriel.

It’s really big and has loads of opportunities for you to get XP, Skillpoints and enjoyment.

I found I got to CP 950 without feeling it was a grind, so maybe it’s not really for you.

thought about doing a public dungeon in Deeshan for the possibility of getting Sorrow Mother gear to sell, basicly just farming and grinding, haven't tried it out yet though

When leveling an alt, skill points are a much bigger issue than actual levels; get the skill points you need and the levels will pretty much take care of themselves.

But if the goal is to get more CP after already having, say, 300 of them -- yeah, it's fair to look for ways to grind. Ditto if you're leveling particular skills or skill lines on a character who doesn't have the option of doing that via crafting writs.

Maybe because grinding is very much a thing in this game if you want it to be? There is no "previous concept of grinding" as many games out there have different grinds available you can CHOOSE to do if you want to and that is very much true in this game as well.

Sure, you can do the things you mentioned but grinding a good spot efficiently is definitely faster.

Best xp i found was hittng the double xp buff then 150% xp scroll, then tank a random instance. I was gaining 2-3 levels per shot pre-CP and about 5-8 CP / run at 290+. Bad part is you can only do that shot once per day, but with the anniversary event lasting so long you should be able to hit it pretty hard.

Public dungeons with *trash sets* because they're empty. Just look around for an empty one. Also, Normal Maelstrom maybe, try it.

Unfortunately, a lot of people might be hesitant to share their grind spot with you (myself included) so that it doesn't become too crowded with other players. My suggestion is to just wander around some zones until you come across an area which is dense with clusters of enemies and then create a route out of it. My grind spot is overland, isn't one of the zombie-dense areas, and gives much higher exp than Skyreach. To this date I haven't run into anyone else grinding there, so just try to find a spot and make it yours :)

Do not grind is the answer, there is nothing at the end of it. Enjoy this huge game, which has so many things to do.

If you insist on grinding, the Village of the Lost in Coldharbour is good - if you get the circuit right everything respawns at a good rate.

I'm in the process of getting my 21st character to level 50 (across 3 accounts) and by the time you do some skyshard hunting, some random dungeons, delves and a few quests, you level up in no time really.

Ok but plenty of people have a good reason to grind:
    • Overland is stupidly easy, they're tired of doing these "fun" things people talk about like delves and public dungeons
    • They came to PC from console and so want to get back to the top of their game sooner, not after a year of having "fun"
    • They care about end-game PvP or PvE, where even small increases in your strength are more important.

It is grinding if you’ve already done that on the same class, and i will be forced to do so again thanks to faction lock that’s coming..

Unsure why folks would ever want to grind. You are missing all the gd content to rush to a end game that's not really there, CP is capped now and you will get there crazy fast anyhow. But each to their own.

Maelstrom is a solo instant, fast travel to, and crazy good XP. Plus its actually enjoyable content.

Personally i zone clear - Dolmens first time have a xp buff, skyshards (SP), lore books, public dungeon group event (SP & XP) delves (first past gives gd xp) alliance quest (3 x SP), main quest (SP) zone explore as you go, never doubling up on content, gd xp, gd SP.

Alik'r Desert dolmens. There is like always 30 players going from one dolmen after the other and so on. Personally I gained almost 10 lvls from doing that and 1 dungeon. With a lovely XP boost of course. Highest XP boost you can have is 260%. The cake gives you 100%, ESO+ gives you another 10%. Then the 150% scroll so in total 260%.

Alik'r dolmen run at least till level 10 and then que up for battlegrounds. Keep running the dolmen and play matches as you que up. It's really the fastest and most fun way to level for me. Remember to eat cake and/or use exp scrolls (I got lots of them from daily rewards).
