I am just curious.
How much total? housing, dlcs, items, everything exclude infinitely buyable items.
$5000? $10000?

As as fast as you think you have bought everything some new and limited time item will get added

Could be indefinite, if you try to get radiant apex mounts from the crates...

Knowing my RNG, Ill spend 10 grand on one Apex Mount. Which is why I don't even attempt.

Oh, this is just the type of math question that gets me interested.

Excluding infinitely buyable items would exclude Crown Crates, but not Bag and Bank space.

I’m actually quite interested in how much that’d be too. Guessing that excludes Crown Crates, furnishing packs, and utility items (XP scrolls and whatnot).

Here we go. I was not kidding when I said I was curious. I took the hypothetical situation of a non-subscribing new player who wants to fully unlock their whole account from the get-go without buying consumables that are infinitely purchaseable, and is willing to plunk down a lot of money to make that happen.

    Account-wide stuff
    Packs & Upgrades: 17,000
    7 Character slots: 10,500
    DLC: 20,500
    Bank Space: 18,000
    Houses: 216,920
    Storage Chests: 11,000
    Style Parlor: 23,200
    Wardrobe: 31,500
    Mounts: 20,400
    Pets: 11,900
    Total: 475,920 crowns

    Per Character Stuff
    Crafting: 83,000
    Bag Space: 8,000
    Riding Lessons: 18,000
9 Outfit Slots: 9,000 (with the current sale)
    Research Scrolls: 397,600
    Total per character: 515,600 crowns
Total for 15 characters: 7,734,000 crowns

The following prices are for PC/NA.
    Account Wide Total: $3,399.77
    Per Character Total: $3,699.75

    15 Characters fully unlocked: $55,246.30

    1 Account + 15 Characters Fully Unlocked: $58,646.09

I don't know about the rest of you, but my teaching job doesn't pay that well.

    Account-wide stuff
    Packs & Upgrades: 17,000
    7 Character slots: 10,500
    DLC: 20,500
    Bank Space: 18,000
    Houses: 216,920
    Storage Chests: 11,000
    Style Parlor: 23,200
    Wardrobe: 31,500
    Mounts: 20,400
    Pets: 11,900
    Total: 475,920 crowns

    Per Character Stuff
    Crafting: 83,000
    Bag Space: 8,000
    Riding Lessons: 18,000
9 Outfit Slots: 9,000 (with the current sale)
    Research Scrolls: 397,600
    Total per character: 515,600 crowns
Total for 15 characters: 7,734,000 crowns

The following prices are for PC/NA.
    Account Wide Total: $3,399.77
    Per Character Total: $3,699.75

    15 Characters fully unlocked: $55,246.30

    1 Account + 15 Characters Fully Unlocked: $58,646.09

I don't know about the rest of you, but my teaching job doesn't pay that well.

And if all that is correct, it just shows how over priced stuff is.

To be entirely fair to the Crown Store, this is the aggregate prices if someone strolled through clicking on everything. Housing, for example, includes every single house in the Base Game in addition to a few Crown Store houses.

Whereas if I break it down in a more normal manner, buying ALL the DLC for 20,500 crowns is only $149.99 if there's no Crown Sale on. That's 5 Dungeon DLCs and 7 story DLC IIRC, for $149.99, or you can get them with ESO+.

Most of the things in the crown store were between 500 and 2,500 crowns, I'd estimate. Given that I last bought crown packs at the 50% discount, a 2000 crown item like the current Altmer Hero costume costs me roughly $7, or $14 for someone without discounted crowns.

Now, its up to every individual to make their own purchasing decisions and decide what is and what isn't overpriced for them. Still, I did want to give ZOS a little credit. The totals look horrid, but that's not the experience of most players using the Vrown Store who pick and choose what they want.

So at least for one character,
    Account Wide Total: $3,399.77
    Per Character Total: $3,699.75
    It requires over $7000.
    I see.

Here we go. I was not kidding when I said I was curious. Not really, because that's going through and buying everything - not necessarily buying in the smartest or most efficient ways.

(like, who needs all the outfit slots on every character? And all the bag & bank space can be gotten with in-game gold, as can most of the houses. And bag/bank space costs the same crowns no matter how much the current tier is in gold - so you could spend 1000 crowns, or a couple hundred? gold for the first level. Etc.)

I mean, you could walk into, say, Forever 21 at the mall, say "how much for everything" and then think "wow, stuff is too expensive" when you hear a stupidly high total. There's no reason to ever buy everything, and there's no reason to price it on the basis of "people are expected to buy everything".

(I do agree outfit slots are still stupidly overpriced. They might be a rational buy if they were, say, 750 crowns for an account-wide one.)

Nah, they monetize lazy people. Skyshards are easy to get in-game. And very few builds require many many skyshards - it's only the Must 100% It All folks who obsess over getting every skyshard on every character they make.

No, because I considered those to be infinitely purchaseable, as you can buy them and cure your characters as many times as you wish, similar to things like the race change tokens.

If you wanted to include this, add 1,500 crowns per character. Total 22,500 crowns and $164.98 to tack it onto the above amounts.

    Definitely.

This was a thought experiment for the OP, and as such there's some thoroughly unrealistic stuff in there like buying every single base game house for crowns or unlocking all the researchable traits with Crown Store research scrolls.
