Why do we have to wait for event to start?

Why not start it earlier? Not moaning really, i I can be patient, but since the first thing I do when I log in is do my writs, and the event this week is focused on doing writs, I see little point in logging in until 15:00 BST.

So why the wait? Is it because of the Americans?

You can do your writs ahead of time and then turn them in after the event begins.
The wait is because Zenimax is an American company, and the event will begin when it's morning in the USA.
I finished some crafting writs yesterday to turn in after the event begins, just to get ahead a little bit.

If it started earlier you'd be asking "Why didn't it start yesterday? Why should we wait?". It starts when it starts, they have to set some hour worldwide so that's that. Most people in Europe are still at work/school anyways.

You have to actually finish them? I thought you could just pick them up the day before.

No, I would not be saying that.

I would of preferred it started in the morning. 9am UK time would of been fantastic.

Did you give them your daily playtime when they were planning the event? If not, I don't see how you can complain.

Because if things start when you want them it would would be madness ANARCHY ON THE STREETS! O.o

But yeah all kidding aside I think everything should reset at 12 A.M or 3 A.M U.S time makes more sense its too random now.. daily battlegrounds and dungeon reset after 20 hours enlighntment when ever it feels like events at an other time just as maintenace.. its all over the place right now

If you read what I actually wrote, you will see I was not complaining. Merely wondering what the delay is.

Since the game is split between 2 mega servers (EU & US) why not begin the event sooner on the EU server so we are not all waiting about?

It seem to be a pretty simple concept that the event has a scheduled time. It also seems to be pretty obvious that if they did move the scheduled time forward that you would still have created a thread asking the same question.

    So party on.

That argument would stand up if we all played on the same server. Since we don't...

You seem to be confusing moaning with discussion. You know general ESO discussion. They even named this forum section the same thing. Amazing coincidence.

idk there's little room for discussion really. idk covered it pretty well already.

The events are scheduled to start during business hours for Zeni, when they have their full staff there to initiate the code and support any issues that arise. They also have additional monitoring of the ticket queue and forums for the first several hours of the event.

It’s generally understood that this timing works best for the people actually doing he work, but won’t be convenient for every consumer in the global market.

If you find this particularly bothersome I encourage you to seek out the numerous quality MMOs that operate in your local area and time zone.

Okay here is the thing. I understand time zones. I get it. But my point is, I play on the EU server, why don't they just have events start at different times on the different servers? Then everyone is happy? Why make the EU players wait for the Americans to wake up? Simple question really. (Still not moaning, I am perfectly fine killing time by doing other things and posting here)

I actually agree with OP. The event should start on reset because... well that's when the eso day starts. It's a bit odd they choose a random time to start it during the day. Some consistency isn't too much to ask for. :)
