Long load time/server dc, when loading character into world or instanced area

I started playing this game on a trial account back in 2014 before I bought it for steam and had this issue then, it makes the game unplayable and I stopped playing. I can log into the client fine, but as soon as I try and load my character into the game the server ends up disconnecting me (presumably from timeout) with no error code but to try in 10-20 minutes. This also happens on the rare occasion I can get into the game and I try and enter an instanced area like a dungeon or the Penthouse apartment. My pc runs the game fine on ultra high settings, my internet doesn't have any problems with other games such as Rainbow 6 Siege, World of Warcraft, Apex Legends, League of Legends, etc. I've tried running the game as an admin as well as with a VPN. Nothing has worked. I don't have any add-ons and I've tried the repair tool.

I just bought one of my friends this game, and now I can't even play with him. I'm wondering if my account is still tagged as a trial account and given lower server priority? I can't think of anything else that could be causing this. I'd gladly buy dlc or eso plus if it fixed my account. I know other people are having a similar issue though, and I'm very confused as to what the problem could be. I do have a support ticket open, but if anyone on the forums has something for me to try I'd love to hear it.

Thanks yo

If you are getting disconnected when loading into the world or into dungeons, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Power cycle and then test your network

If playing on PC/Mac, you should try turning off your modem or router for 10 minutes before rebooting.

    Forward the game ports

To best access The Elder Scrolls Online you should configure you routers to open the following outbound ports:

    All Platforms

    TCP / UDP Ports 24100 through 24131
    TCP / UDP Ports 24500 through 24507
    TCP / UDP Ports 24300 through 24331
    TCP Port 80
    TCP Port 433

    Check for updates

You should also ensure that the ESO Launcher has downloaded and installed all available updates before logging back in. If on console, we also recommend completely closing out the game and allowing the system to check for game updates before restarting the game itself.

    Reset the ProgramData folder

You can try resetting the ProgramData folder:
    1. Close both ESO and the ESO Launcher.
    2. Open the game's installation directory.
    3. Open the folder named Launcher.
    4. Inside the "Launcher" folder, there is a folder named "ProgramData".
    5. Rename the "ProgramData" folder to "ProgramDataBackup".
    6. Open the launcher and download update.
    7. Click Play.

Please let us know if any of these help with the disconnections you're getting in game.

I've checked for updates and reset the ProgramData Folder and it did not change anything. Unfortunately, I cannot access the modem and routers to try those steps. Is there anything else that might fix this? On my account page I am listed as an Active - Trial account linked to my Steam account. Could this be an issue?

How difficult would it be to unlink my current eso account from my steam account so I can make a new one not listed as "Active - Trial"?

For unlinking accounts you would need to check with customer support. You can open a ticket by going here.
