Better Healing for Sorcs

Are you tired of hitting that veteran random queue just to find out that your healer is a sorcerer that tells you "I'm a DPS/Healer, don't worry we will be alright I have the matriarch"?
are you tired of being kicked out the moment they see your pet when you queued as a Healer? Well here it is folks a simple comprehensive guide to be a Sorcerer healer.

First thing to do is to take out the DPS/Healer mentality, seriously have you ever seen a paramedic arrive at a horrendous car accident with a M249 telling the victims "Don't worry I also have
band-aids and bacitracin so you will be fine"?. As a Healer you want to make sure you have enough resource regain to cast those healing spells consistently. so please don't show up using all your previous DPS oriented gear unless of course you are also running a set like Infallible Aether that hits the enemy with minor vulnerability .

You will also want to make sure you have a Restoration staff equipped, Healing springs and Combat Prayer are two skills you want slotted on that staff, a lot of people think that by simply spamming Regeneration they got it covered, news flash! you don't!

Since I mentioned resource regain for yourself it is a MUST to have Energy Orb slotted and periodically launching them to help out your team to regain their resources.

Aggressive Warhorn for that 10% stat boost and Major Force, just pay attention to the active buffs on a trial, and don't waste it if somebody already casted one, once done yo cast yours to keep the uptime.

This is not a full complex guide this is just what I have yet seen on any Dungeon Run, vDSA, Trial every single time a healer hops in and happens to be a Sorcerer and the run ends up being a fail.

I've gotten all of dlc hm speed runs and no deaths without slotting springs.
Healers in 4 man content should be able to pull 20-25k while keeping off balance and major courage uptimes high.

Agree 3DD runs are actually way easier than 2DD/Healer runs most of the time. A DD that can not even pull 40k in a Dungeon ist a lot worse than a healer that doesnt heal a lot.

Think the four original classes will get minor tweaks over the updates or one big update to some skills to fit them into the new way classes are being rolled out.

    -DPS tree
    -Tank tree
    -Heal tree

Going to be tricky as the original four classes would need a big shake up for this to fit straight away and this might pee people off.

There have already been a few changes to some class skills to fit the new model, so we will see.

But yes Sorc needs some proper healing skills :)

Matriarch is really good enough for all vet , also work in DLC HM , but two 32k plus smart DD are required :)

We rarely run HM with healer , we wanna kill everything fast lol .

I don't really think sorc healers are a huge issue, sorc healers are meta and perform above average even with only orbs and Matriarch slotted, Nightblade healers on the other hand.... I have never seen a succeful nightblade healer.
Most OwOrated healer of all time

In the greater scope of things, before running one must first learn how to stand up and walk, Speedruns with 3DD are a thing, specially id people came prepared. Your average everyday dungeon queue doesn’t consist of people who are prepared for a speed run.

Every content can be acomplished by any class in any role. That's what you have gear/CP for... Sorcerers you are talking about were probably trying to skip queue and queueing as a fake healer by simply slotting restoration staff on the back bar. Sure, for the leaderboard runs there are better options than sorcerer, but this goes the same way for DDs and Tanks, but I ensure you that you can play succefully as a healing sorcer. It's because there is so much overheal for Templars or Wardens in the end game, that they are asked to move some healing capabilities into DPS, so they can help to skip some annoying mechanics. For Sorcerer it works in the opposite way - you move some DPS capabilities into healing, you just need to find your sweet spot. 😏 yes I like this thread...buff Sorc healers.

    * Negate make it actually work on some content and give healer utility. Absorption field doesn't feel like it absorbs anything. Also let's absorb then get be back to allies..
    * Twlight instead of damage let it buff enchantments of allies. They are Sorcs after should be good with magic

On a serious note, Sorc suffers from old Nightblade issue in 4 man content. It's just to easy to get away with bursts healing everything.

Matriarch is an very good emergency heal. If people take a lot of damage you use healing spring,
Combat prayer is also an AoE heal.
I say sorcerer is an very good dungeon healer as they has strong emergency heal and good AoE damage.

Fake healers however is an thing however.
but you can go DD with healing up to full healer on an sliding scale: my dressing room has 3 setups here for damage / healing
Yes has trials, overland and pvp as others.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
