Lethal arrow change from major defile to minor defile. thx for the buff

According to the hints we got from the press event in London, Lethal Arrow will probably changed to minor defile.
Won´t this just further buff snipe spammers? Together with a disease glyph, snipers will be able to land major and minor defile together...

Is this really intended or is there something I miss, because I don´t play bow chars?

Argonian would counter that completely, the bow user will have missed out on double dot poisons, and after the allure of the change passes, realizes that there are better options

"be a certain race" is not a counter everyone has access to. some people actually enjoy playing the race they like.

Disease glyph doesnt guarantee the Major Defile debuff though. Its 20% chance every 4 seconds. Not to mention Bosmer and Argonians are completely immune to it.

All you need is a sufficient number of Argonians in PvP to make the set-up not be profitable. Essentially Argonians with their disease resist could in theory effectively provide herd-immunity.

If this ends up being true it’ll be kind of surprising. Yes you will now be able to stack Major and minor defile. Snipe to incap will be really hard to recover from and due to the rumored shorter cast time of snipe this will likely become very popular. I’m not sure what exactly is the though process of the combat team. I highly doubt they didn’t think of it stacking, Gilliam at least would have caught that in a second. So if this ends up being the case it would seem oddly short sighted.

any race can slot a disease resist glyph and be immune to the major defile from the enchant.

I remember seeing this "rumor" somewhere on the forums and it was something like this:

Major defile -> Minor defile
Reduced base dmg
Reduced cast time

So basically the skill itself will most likely have the same DPS as it has now, but the initial burst dmg will be lower. And the minor defile should make it less "cancerous".
Technically that means a huge nerf for bow gankers in Cyro. However I know that people tend to be creative. We might see gankers for example working in pairs now, or using some weird builds to stack minor + major defile. Alternatively bow gankers will simply "die off" and switch to magicka (destro staff ganking).

Btw. It is hilarious how people say just to use an Argonian passive or even disease resist glyphs. Those won't work as they only protect from defile that can proc from disease dmg type. They won't protect you from major/minor defile applied by skill or gear set. Hence, why I think disease resist is probably the worst type of resistance in eso - you gonna get defiled anyway...

Meh, status effects only proc 20% of the time you inflict that specific type of damage, unless you run charged on your where you'd drop quite a bit of overall damage for it.
For the average pew pew guy sitting on walls its a nerf.

Would be a terrible change, in an outnumbered situation you probably are already perma major defiled but minor defile is currently very rare, if they make snipe minor defile we will now be perma major and minor defiled because nightblades and snipetards are everywhere, most stam run a disease glyph and theres reverb, dark flare and sets that apply major defile.

I thought of it as well
A charged bow with Disease enchantment and snipe.
Or infused bow with Weapon Damage enchantment on back bar and Incapacitating Strike on front bar.
LA -> Lethal Arrow -> Bar swap -> LA -> Incap -> LA Merciless Resolve -> LA -> Killers Blade and your target is dead.

I'm really sorry but if you're light attacking into a lethal arrow on a ganker you've got it all wrong.
Try walking up to someone, cloaking then immediately winding up a snipe, as soon as the snipe fires hit incap. It's a beautiful thing, especially with Ballorgh .

Yeah snipe into incap is going to be goodnight for pretty much anyone not ready to break free and dodgeroll immediately and get help from someone else.

Not a counter. More like you'll suffer an efficiency loss lol. As others said, 20% chance with a 3s window. You'd need to go charged/infused if you want to abuse the stacking and chances are it won't feel as fulfilling as adding sharp/nirn on a raw DMG enchant/poison
Also, pirate Skelly; minor defile is already on most of cyro lol.

The cast time is only supposedly going from 1.1 to 1, which I believe may inhibit the effectiveness of Snipe>Incap as right now Snipe runs into the next GCD which allows another skill immediately after. You might get a slight delay with the change which could be what someone needs to break free and block/roll the incap.

Its a flat out buff, anyone who has any understanding of Mechanics knows its a buff....Why people were talking about it being a nerf blows my mind.

which brings the proc chance to only 42%, you would be much better of with infused, you get around the same chance, becuase you proc it twice as fast, blus you get double the average enchant damage.

Nonono not charged not disease enchant none of that silly nonsense. Snipe Silver Leash Incap PROFIT. Or sneak up right behind someone and snipe immediately into incap.

Charged bow would lower the burst damage vs sharpened nirn or infused.

Now you just need to know how much of a Nerf the snipe has taken in terms of raw burst. With all the tanky players running around you have to build for pure damage I'm talking full divines damage gear for the pure ganks to be viable. And this STILL doesn't work depending on target. So if snipe took too big a hit sure they will have a hard time recovering with all that defile. But ehhhh... You want em dead with the initial salvo not really injured but still alive, cause now you have to be in the open in all pure squish to secure the kill. We'll see though.
