does letting your sub drop then re subbing reset the DB and thieves guild questlines?

I want to reply them on my main (not on a new character) and I used to do this in classic console games like TES and fallout by uninstalling the DLC, saving it, then reinstalling, thus I would get to replay it.

so if I drop my sub and thus lose dark brotherhood and thieves guild, will then re subbing allow me to do them again or will it track the fact that I beat them already?

You can't reset them, all your progress is saved.

you do not lose your DLC quest progress or your skill line progress or even acess to that skill line. you only lose progress to further questing and zones themselves.

or in other words - it does NOT reset your progress, so if you want to redo those DLCs? you are going to have to do that on alts. this is not a single player game where you can reload an earlier save and whatnot. in MMO's once you do something? its done, no going back on it

It won't. 2 years ago, I got early access to Morrowind for my preorder. But because I had ordered a physical box version, which was late in shipping, I couldn't activate the content when it launched officially until after the two day grace period. I let support know so they wouldn't think I had tried to game the system, parked my characters outside of Morrowind, including my two Wardens, and waited for my shipment. During that time I didn't lose any of the progress I had made while I didn't have access.

You can replay them on a new character.

I doubt they would ever add the option for a character to reset main questlines after finishing them as they give quite a bit of experience. Allowing them to be reset would be too exploitable for the easy farming of said XP.

I don't want the hassle of making another character though... I think they should let us replay a quest without awarding XP. There are a number of quests I'd love to play through again for the dialogue.

quests in no way shape or form give any form of better xp that cannot be gained a million times faster at sentinel beach, skyreach, or just sitting in a dolmen group.

some people don't want to make a new character or all the hassle that entails when a simple:

    /set stage

command is easy enough to do.

It shouldn't reset them. I think it just halts your access to the zones while you're unsubbed which prevents you from making progress on the skill lines since the skill lines are only leveled through quests in their zones.

They also give things like skill points.

You get to go through the story missions once per character. If you want to play the story again, you make a new alt.

("setstage"/console commands & DLC uninstall hijinks aren't game features, they're taking advantage/exploits. Which are fine in a single player game.)
