About to make my 160 gear. Julianos is all good.
Whats a good second set? Alcast recommends Magnus. Is there a better one?

Magnus is too RNG, so is likely to be worse over the long run with it's 5 piece bonus

If you don't mind capricious random chance based sets, Mechanical Acuity comes to mind, it should be more or less on par with Mother's Sorrow for magicka (you can always grab Mother's Sorrow, but MA is an alternative if you want to stick to crafted sets).

well try to get a non crafted set like Mother sorrow, it will end up beeing better than most /all crafted sets IMO.

Only option I see which you can combine with Julianos is Twice Born Star with Shadow and Thief mundus -> again MS is stronger then.

you can get MS easily on guildtrtades for a few bucks.

    What about this Shacklebreaker business?
I have 6 traits on all.

    Thanks for the tip tho.
    Really appreciate it.

I still haven't finished Wrothgar yet nor really even started it.
I have a little overland to go for now.
    That means mostly solo overland.

Will probably take me years. lol

    I'll go MS jewelry.
Doesn't even take too long to farm.

Willpower until I get the set I guess.

If it's just overland, you are unlikely to need a 'perfect' set & 5 Julianos, 4 Magnus & 3 Arcane (or even random) Jewelry will do

Vet dungeons (or maybe the newer DLCs ones on normal) will need better gear

If your heart is set on crafting both sets, pairing Julianos with Kagrenac's Hope could be a good choice. Since mDK requires near-melee range to whip the extra health is a plus. The spell damage isn't as big as Julianos but it's decent. Magicka and recovery are good, obviously. And if you're running a dungeon or trial as DPS then you should be handling rezzing duties - which this helps with as well.

I agree with Seducer over Magnus, I don't like relying on the RNG either.

Shacklebreaker could work. Innate Axiom could too, for similar reasons. You're getting a lot of extra stamina-related stats that you won't really need for PvE, but extra blocking and dodging can help so it isn't completely useless.

There are more role-focused options if you are open to world and dungeon sets, obviously. Burning Spell Weave + Julianos is what I've got on my mDK, which I would recommend as a good starting point for a damage role.

    Just what I needed.

Might as well get on the grind train and work on getting the Burning SpellWeave Set put together. City of Ash 1 gear farms should be easy to get into.

I know you're asking for crafted sets, but Silks of the Sun is overland and very easy to farm. Grab Jewels from dolmens, and a couple named drops from Hightide Hollow (Oodegu's Flamestick of the Sun).

Alcast is only recommending Magnus as a 4 pc set to go with Willpower. Otherwise, I agree with others that Seducer is better, and have even run Seducer and Julianos when leveling mDK myself.

At CP160, I think I'd still go with Silks then jump on the BSW farm train.
