How exactly does hitbox in eso work?

What I observed:
1.Your hitbox doesn't change if you stealth. Using furniture in house to create a hole, if you can't get through normally, crouch won't help, so the hitbox remains the same tho model changed

2.When an enemy fly up, their hitbox actually moved. Wraith of crow, titans etc, when they fly up and you shot at them with bow or staff where their model is, you can get the red crosshair, meaning the hit registered.

So how exactly does it work? If our model and hitbox can actually “fly”, then can't fly shouldn't be an engine-restriction level problem, rather a gameplay problem

    what is your question exactly?

you kinda answered it yourself already...but why should ouur hitbox "fly"...you want flying mounts or what?

thatt the hitbox doesnt crousch with your is prob intended, so you cannot alter the hitboxsize in PVP, therefore keeps the fight a bit more fair.

imagine if you have a 1,5m high char or a 2,2m high char...if they would be different to hit, that would be a restricting mechanic, and everybody would make the smalles char possible, to avoid aoe and DD dmg due to beeing able to get their hitbox out of harms way faster than a big char can.

Simply want to know more about it.

The flying hitbox hasn't been a big thing before Elsweyr since so few enemy actually fly (and when they do fly, they don't do it for long and sonetimes even can't be targeted)

With a new dragon in trial that constantly flies, this need to be clear. Can we target the flying monster with range weapon? Does it mean melee weapons will be less favorable? And does ground dot work, even tho the dragon isn't really on the groud?

completely different quests now, but they altealst are clearer than the ones to begin with :D

well there are some adds twhich already permanently fly in the game
wasps (small and big ones), those gobling thinigs, bats, twilight tormentors to name a few.
those can be effected by ground targeting skills like blockade or hail.
even some sidebosses like the attros in the dragonfight in CoA2 are kinda flying...thou noone focusses them anyways xD

I personally hope that ZOS learned from the meele unfriendlyness of trials like AS or CR, where range is so much more favourable than meele, and make it that those bosses hitboxes are big wnough to be hitable by meele skills easily.

we will know more when PTS goes up and we can test this
