Questions about Streaming and Twitch

First, not sure where this topic actually goes, so If it needs to be moved, I'll find it.
Ok I've got my channel set up and working and I made my first stream earlier today.
My problem is that I don't want to play in a window and I found out that if you take focus off of the game screen to check if your channel is working the stream dies. Error# 5000 shows on the Twitch screen.
How do folks Play ESO and interact with Twitch (or similar) at the same time? Do you use a laptop or something separate from your gaming PC for channel interaction? I'm looking for different ideas that folks use. I can imagine several setups but I'd like to know what is used by folks here.
Not sure if this is ever going to be anything more than me providing a means for sharing my play time with a friend who can't play anymore but I'd still like to know.
