Need help deciding DLC to buy

I'm a returning player and last year I bought Morrowind, but before that I hadn't bought any of the expansions at all. I want to know, do I need all of the expansions and DLC to get the full story lore? Are there players playing older content like Thieves Guild? How much harder is life in ESO compared to going through the subscription?

Well let's see as well as Morrowind there's the Summerset expansion and of course Elsweyr coming out later this year. The Guilds and Glory pack seems a good deal as it gives you Thieves guild, Dark Brotherhood, Orisinium and Imperial City at a cheaper price than if you bought them separate. The only other one that adds a new zone I believe is Murkmire. The rest I believe are dungeons. A lot of the zone dlc ones often have some side quests along with their main story. Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild also add on new zones as well as having these factions quests and the new zone. The Dungeon dlcs I believe also have their own story to them though but as being dungeons will likely need to be completed with a group.

I say get ESO+. That is what I do. While Summerset is not included with that yet, (it may or may not be included in June when Elsewyr comes out) but you get all DLC included and the other perks as well. That is what I do.

I like Dark Brotherhood only for the ability to get the Blade of Woe. For me role playing wise, I don't think of it as killing people when you sneak up on them as if thieving, but as knocking them out since they come back to life and makes the game more role play for me.

Is ESO+ an option for you? If so, I find it the best way to go. Double bank space, craft bag, 1650 crowns to spend on in the store a month. 10% experience and research boost. A few others I am forgetting as well I am sure.
Not my quote but I love this saying

"I would pay It for support. But since they choosed we are just numbers and not customers, i dont mind if game and zos goes to oblivion"

Clockwork city is also a zone.

Ah yes I forgot about Clockwork City. That's another one that adds a new zone.

I will say also looking at the price of crowns compared to sub prices and how many crowns you get for each month of subscription it probably would be cheaper to subscribe for a time then if you don't want to keep going when the time is up you can use the crowns from it to buy the dlc packs.

Yeah I'd say I'll go for the sub for a while and then use the monthly crowns to get the DLC I missed out on, I don't really want too much stuff on the crown store either way, the only thing that looks the most appealing are the DLC.

Bank space & craft bag are the real bonus of ESO+
10% XP is neither here nor there, 10% craft reseach saving maybe useful
& use that stipend to buy the story (and dungeon) dlc you want if you do stop ESO+

Imperial City is the questionable one, and that is getting changed so you do not need to go through a Cyrodil campaign with Elsweyr, all of the others have some players all the time, more during their events, with Orsimium being the most populous (when I look)

Ah no I see from many reddit posters that you don't have to play them in any particular order. In that case I want to hop onto the latest chapter and pre-purchase Elsweyr. I'll then use the sub to get Wrathstone, sounds like a win to me. and continue using the sub to collect the other DLC if I want them, sounds like a win!

    Hey Ryknos

You don’t have to play the various DLC in any order. If you do want to, there are many posts listing the best/most correct chronological order to play them in.

ESO+ subscription is easily the best way to experience the DLC. The crowns that come with the sub make subbing approximately the same price as buying the crowns alone.

I’ve enjoyed all the story DLCs. The dungeon ones are a bit more of a niche thing (your characters can’t do them until they are level 45).

    Have fun.
