Necro isn't OP, it's well designed

Necro is looking like the first class that will be competitive in all 3 roles. All the classes before it fell flat in something. ZOS tried this approach with the warden, but botched the damage line. They seem to have gotten the formula right with necro.

Rather than nerfing necro, what ZOS should be doing is reworking the other classes. They said they wanted to do this last year, but they gave up because it was too much work. Knowing ZOS, what they'll probably end up doing is just nerfing necro because it's the path of least resistance, but that's disappointing.

    It’s impossible to tell without playing it yourself. There’s a corpse mechanic you have to manage that I don’t understand.

    I do think you’ll see lots of forum tears from ball groups though. All the other classes lack ranged aoe dps and the necro looks like it has plenty. Every ultimate they have looks like a ball group buster.

    My only concerns with the class is mainly it's AOE res ulti and the heal absorption ability. Of course few have actually played the class so people shouldn't call for nerfs until it's out on the PTS but it certainly does seem rather concerning.
    Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

    When you need a corpse for a skill or if youd use one to augment the skill, you have to be targeting a dead body on the ground. Whether it be an ally's corpse, an enemey's or a corpse generated from one of your skills.

    not in the slightest, ball groups running necro will be impossible to deal with, having an ultimate at the ready that can rez up to 3 fallen people at a moments notice is going to make dealing with coordinated balls an epic pain to deal with.

    as it stands forward camps already made it hard because when groups started getting low they would break apart and flee to set up a camp, now they don't even have to do that. you will have to kill ball groups ALL at once in a single burst or they will just recover and keep going, now you cannot even bleed them a few people at a time.

    same for small man groups that camp resources, have one troll tank necro and your group just cannot be dealt with.

    100% agree that the Necro res ult is pretty game breaking for PvP. Zombie rezzing zergs were already an issue, now it'll be worse. The ultimate should cost 500 and only rez a max of 2 people, imo.

    It's pointless to make op threads at this point anyway so you should all save your energy. Many things about necro already changed and will continue to change before it hits live.

    I prefer it to be a bit op then they tune it down.. unlike warden where everyone said it sucked at launch apart from stam warden in pvp.
