Dubious Camoran Throne: Is it useful for me?

I play as a Redguard Stamblade DD. I'm pure-blooded. (Neither WW or Vamp)

With this in mind, compared to the blue foods such as braised rabbit with spring vegetables, would Dubious Camoran Throne be a competitive alternative? I have the recipe, having needed it to get the Royal Jester title.

I'm just wondering as I have the recipe, so it begs the question, could I use it?

Cheers.

If you drop the recipe it's definitely worth learning, it becomes expensive and rare outside the Jester's festival period. I can't speak for PvP, but for PvE it's great for stamDDs (though as a Redguard you can probably sustain on blue food, but for other classes, or when you are solo/without support roles the regen goes a long way, and you can make up for the less health via other means).

On the point you make about solo. I'm guessing vMA would squarely go under that category? I of course one day intend to take that challenge on, and based off the replies you all have so kindly provided, it seems to me that it could be quite valuable in high-tier solo content.

It would depend on your build, but yes, I did vMA with regen food for all my stam characters--if you are out of resources there, it's game over, as there's little room to recover. I would highly recommend learning it, and not having to constantly buy the food from the traders, and like another commenter said above it's not costly to make and lasts for 2 hours (even longer if you have the provisioning passives)

Counterintuitive, but it might not. VMA requires you to burst down a number of adds. So depending on your build, you might prefer the higher stats from blue food.

Stamblade already has good sustain and you're redguard. Dubious is great, but especially for VMA, I don't think it's required. Just use Vicious Ophidian. That set is a must for VMA imo, that will cover any remaining sustain issues you have.

Blue food will get you more health for survival and the extra stam will give you more damage/burst, also really important for VMA.

To add to this question, the recipe interests me because while it offers less max resources compared to the blue foods, there is that regeneration buff.

Is that regen' buff worth getting at the cost of less max resources?

I find the regen is great for sustain on stam DPS. Depends on the content you are running.

Mostly normal, do want to get into vet' content later because monster sets, no interest in leaderboard runs.

I tend to use Dubious on all my stam characters.

One of the advantages of Dubious is that you can use it any level. It will scale with your character.

This is very true, not to mention lasting at least two hours, more if you invest in the passives. I also like that it does not require Bervez Juice or Frost Mirriam, unlike levelled purple recipes.

That's another reason I'm investigating this recipe. It seems comparatively cheap to craft.

    I've already learnt it. :)

Had to so I could get the Royal Jester title. :P (I like silly things, sue me. XD)

That aside, yes, this answers my question. I'll certainly be having this drink handy for the day I tackle vMA.

    Thank you all.

I see. Sorry, your response ninja'd me. :)

Well, I think it's certainly good that I know the recipe. I'll just bring both foods when I get to that level of content, to see which works best for my circumstances.

Well, if you got top provisioner crafter you will get ton of juice/miriam for free. But anyway dubious is so great, i use it on majority of toons. Dummy parses are dummy parses, but in some harder content including vma you need to roll-dodge/sprint/burst a lot.. and btw bursting in vma are fast killing of 50-60k HP mobs on which your dots often won't payoff and you need to burst them in few seconds with spammable which will require additional sustain.
