So i complete it 5X ( i know 5x aint much)

BUT WTF 5X in a row I get that *** maelstom maul??? I want to know how "random" "random" really is .
I mean there are : swords, daggers,mauls,bow,3x different staves, ..... and 5x in a row i get a maul. Can't really call this random anymore can you?
Is it bugged or what?

    Someone believe if you want to get bow you need to play on mag chars. But my exp is other, event gives all you want. Prepare for it, make some time and farm all weapons.

    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

    Idc what anyone says but 2h swords, axes and mauls have the highest drop rate in vMA. Can easily be proven.

    I've done it VMA three times. I've received two axes and two resto staffs. I agree with the OP. VMA's sole focus is to laugh maniacally at players.

    Here's the thing with propability. There is a small chance that someoone will get 5 mauls in a row same as there is even smaller chance someone will win milion dollars lottery. The only thing is that You dont expect it'll be You.

    RNG works that way. Pray you get a maul, you'll get the inferno staff.

    I mean. All I want is a sturdy shield. Keep getting them nirnuorned bows. I think I got 3 bows in my last 6 runs. Haven't seen fire staves in a while though.

    Idk whether it’s true or not, but it’s said that running a stam toon will get you more magic weapons and vice versa.

    Its definitely true that it took forever to get the flame staff I went in there for running on my mDK main - and one dropped on my first and only run on my stamplar :)

    Well, as someone who runs it a lot almost exclusively on mag, the amount of bows/fire staves is almost the same.

    It might be because I am a petsorc and have two lightening staves both bars (rarely get lightening ones). On the other hand, the amount of two handed and dual wield I got is just too big.

    I suggested in an other post to change the loot chest at the end into the NPC giving you to choose between 2-3 bags which have random weapons inside, but from different categories, like stamina weapons in one bag, magicka in an other. At least you won't get a maul for your magicka char. But the problem is there are more stamina weapon types than staves, so this has to be balanced somehow in order to be fair.

    An other idea is to get a bound material when you deconstruct the vMA weapon, so when you get something like 5 of these, you could buy a weapon from Riparius or maybe an other bag.

    I've completed it many many many times. I too am cursed....*continues deconstructing daggers, mauls, and sword and shields*

    Edit: And yes....I get all of those weapons literally in groups of 3 or 4 times in a row before going to the next batch of weapons I don't want

    I think that was when a certain trait was BiS and trait changing wasn't a thing so he was after a specific fire staff. But yeah it was well over 900 runs I think.

    Classic maelstrom arena. When I used to farm it I've gotten like 15 restos in 20 tries. Do some forum search on absymal maelstrom drop threads, you're not even close to hell ;)
