What are these WHISPERS saying?!

I’m sure it’s a teaser for Elsweyr, but I can’t quite make out the phrases being said. Can anyone shed light on what the messages in these random whispers are?

Also, I hear them only when logged in on my non CP character, though I don’t know whether or not that’s relevant.

That sound that he's making is from The Scholar personality, isn't it? It's when he's "erasing" or "correcting" something he wrote.

In the end I think the Scholar personality is the culprit. Perhaps it was just a ZOS_Teaser (no offense, @Tasear) all along!

Strange (and apropos) that I would enable this personality for more than a few seconds until this week.

So after a bit of trial and error, it appears that it IS the Scholar personality, but only when equipped on an Argonian.

Others can hear it as well when they are in the vicinity. Sound effects are localized so it’s not in sync with mine, but they still hear the same voice.

Theory of it being a subtle hype generator for Elsweyr debunked.

Perhaps the character is wearing armor with sound effects?

(My favorite talking armor was Caluurion before they nerfed the volume. I was sad about the nerf.)

When I’m on my lowbie Argonian warden healer I get these random whispers from an unknown source. The voice is male. Possibly Khajiit, though it is difficult to tell, and he says 3-4 different things. The only word I can ever really make out is “dragon,” which is what makes me think it’s a teaser promo for Elsweyr.

But really, nobody else is hearing it? 🙀

No, this character is just in junky crafted training gear. No special effects from those. Good idea though, and I appreciate the feedback. It’s somethinf else though.

I'm not really fanciful.... but I've been thinking I'm hearing background voiceovers in the game. I told husband yesterday that I thought there was something weird since the patch....

It’s distinctly different from other voiceovers I've heard in the past, @Sylvermynx, but it’s just audible enough, loud enough, to notice it as I work through another character leveling up the Dark Brotherhood skill line to get the “shadow rider” passive (I’ve found I can’t play without it).

Every time I enter the Thieves guild or the DB Sanctiary, I hear a whispered message. Not the same one every time, mind you, but the same voice. And the only recognizable thing I hear is “dragons” in one of the messages. And the, I dunno, maybe the cadence of the words, or the inflection in the tone of the voice, sounds Khajiit. I know it’s odd. But I suspect it’s purposefully so.

I’m just currently kinda weirded out that nobody else is discussing it since I’m on PS4 and PC has had the “21” update for two weeks.

Nobody’s hearing it? Really?

No, I do hear it too - I had to launder several things from troves today, and it was there each time I loaded into the TG. I didn't get a clear read on it.... Husband had tv cranked up because furnace was on, and he doesn't hear well (um.... he doesn't hear at ALL.... *SIGH*), so I could catch the subliminal whispering, but couldn't make out the words (my hearing is just fine - absent stupid overloud STUPID tv....)

Do you have the Lord Warden's quest reward shield equipped from ICP? That one talks to you. It's actually quite entertaining.

PC NA for me.

Oh, I'm headphoned the entire time in game. So yes I do still have the tv background buzz, but the game voices, sounds etc. are crystal clear.

I don't Arch. Literally the only time I hear them is zoning into the Outlaw Refuge (from the outside city walls access - I actually never use the other one....)

I thought those were just npc voices.

I look around and see no npc, yes I hear whisper ingame, i just thought it was lagging npc voices.

Its almost audible but I dont understand it.

I started db quest with new Naryu inspired character so I did db quest, because Naryu is a assassin. I know moragtong not db, but its still assassins.

Try turning the music volume all the way down. It should make the whispers (if they're ambient noise) more clear.

Ain't hap'nin son. My stuff is my stuff. And when I quit playing, it will sit on my characters until the servers go dark.

There's millions in gold and lots of rare stuff still sitting on my 70 WoW characters; ditto on my 50 RIFT ones. Yep, I know it's all still there, because I have family still in the guilds and playing the game (yeah, even RIFT with all that dreck going on), and none of my girls have logged in since I left - in 2013 (WoW) and 2016 (RIFT).

If the PS4 has an easy way to share a video clip, I did just manage to save one of one of the whispers when I entered the sanctuary. Pain in the ass though, so it may not get uploaded.
