Bringing my Tank into PvP?

The title sums it up pretty well, but I've been having a blast of a time on my tank Sorcerer in PvE, but I'm getting tired of every time I want to PvP having to drop something like 10K on a full overhaul - yes, I know, I get really attached to single characters instead of flexing my other character slots.

I feel like I tried it once and got completely annihilated, granted I was still fairly new, but now there's "Nerf sword and board" threads popping up and I'm confused as to what it is that I've missed? I'd like to do more than just be the spearhead in giant ball groups, being able to hold my own while roaming would be nice or actually be able to help a friend out instead of having to just go "I can kinda harass him."

If you want to bring a PVE tank directly into PVP, it is doable if the sets you are wearing are mostly selfish. But if you actually want to kill other people on the same tank, you are better off doing the respec to damage. PVE tanks can hold their own in PVP, but you aren't killing anything and are mostly rooting players and leading the charge for allies to soak up damage.

I don't mind not killing people. Being a battlefield controller has been something I've enjoyed since the early days of Dungeons and Dragons so if it's mostly harassment and funneling people where I want them that's fine. I just wasn't sure if there was something I was sleeping on other than "craft a second set and put Impen on it."

    sorry, try a DK tank.

As a sorc tank the first thing you will find is a DK casting foss on you.

@Escorpiao_Noturno is a well known tank in PvP, he can explain you better why a DK tank is much better.
Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

I was born with the wrong sign
    In the wrong house
    With the wrong ascendancy
    I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
Used the wrong method with the wrong technique

I never heard about PVP sorc tank.
I saw some NB tank and it was good.

But the best class to tank is DK and race argonian.

    And I always say :

    - More damage you do less tank you are.
    - sometimes you can tank 10 players, sometimes 3 players kill you so fast
    - I saw Severe Draconnis tanking hard and also killing people alone (but he is
one the best pvp tanks) it's hard to do it. Only tanking is much easier

Check one build that I made on my channel.

On this patch you can tank... But not like the old good times like before :

You can pvp tank as any class, I’ve seen people do it. I know next to nothing about sorcs but what I do know is focus on self healing.

The pvp tanks I see combine self healing, high mitigation and reflections to be tanky. PvE tanking is all about just mitigation and your health pool, self healing is the missing piece of the puzzle.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

Wardens can Tank (Self Minor Protection, Self Minor Evasion etc), have the most debuffs with some exclusive to their skills (AOE Major Defile, minor maim etc), have the team buffs (Moveable AOE Major Protection/Minor Toughness etc), Exclusively Spam Heal Yourself & Your Team While Sitting in Negates (Soothing Spores) and can lead charges. It's just no good for solo since you're their to shut down, debuff and control other groups and buff your own.

Yes... Warden can tank a lot on pvp.

GERMINOSE is the best PVP Warden tank.
I saw him tanking 10+players for a long time.

Negate tanks are probably the most sought out tank of all. Bloodspawn, shalks and akaviri dragonguard. Guard the healer and negate when your team drips ults.
