Kynereth’s /Y’ffre’s Blessing: Weekly Base-game 2x zone drops

I notice that people flock to zones during double drop events.

Some base game zones are rather empty.

It would be nice if, on a rotating basis, Spring came to zones in base game Tamriel, causing mats to drop double.

Zone bosses would finally get done (for those who aren’t in a guild). Fishing groups might flourish. The base game will be alive and buzzing again.

Just a chill thing, no tickets or grinding. Two weeks Stormhaven is flourishing, the next Reaper’s March is flourishing, the next Stonefalls is flourishing. And so on.

Sounds great to me @max_only ! I won't try doing the double node drops in events, it's just too big a mess.

This is actually nice idea, but I'm afraid what it could do with economy. Love to sell my things for good price.

Couple games i play have weekly bonuses every day

    One had
Saturday bonus exp and exp to skills
    Sunday was double dungeon exp
Monday was double enchanting success %
    Tues was double combat exp
    Wed was double gold drops
Thurs was double material drops for crafts
    Friday half merchant sales prices

Eso could benefit so hard on this model with tweaks that fit the game.

Some of that might actually be really great. The guild traders of "dead zones" will get a lot more traffic during those times. The only other thing that would need to be addressed is that the crafting hubs aren't great it every zone to keep them alive. And if this applies to dungeons too, then imagine how glad all those BSW farmers would be about getting double drops.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

At least the lag will be shared around this way, I avoid events in general because of the extreme overpopulation in 1 area causing all sorts of performance issues, this might actually help!

Something like this will inevitably be done because MMO's have a tendency to keep moving forward with content while leaving the old content behind and over time, people simply do not go to these zones unless they're questing. You can see it being done now in ESO.

Economy? I couldn't care less about the economy. I don't mind Dreugh Wax for 500g/ea.. A "broken economy" wont stop me from doing content.

Sounds like a good idea to me! I wouldn't mind it for my newer characters.
    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause
    Legends never die

Doubling rewards for the easiest content in the game (overland)?

Yeah, that doesn’t make any sense ...

Just mats really, maybe boss drops. Just to inject some life into zones that are deserted (middle story zones). It would help people get world bosses and quests done I think. Expose people to the lesser known guild traders. Let newbies take a look at awesome vets running around in their kick ass armor. Most vets I know are actually not jerks and will wait for newbs to catch up in delves and public dungeons. And the constant switching generally keep us on our toes.

    I understand the objection though.

Zos is promoting DLC zones with those events. There is no reason to promote the base game when all of us already have it.

When zos promotes the base game they do it by offering a free trial weekend so people can try the game.

In other words, it is not going to happen. The idea seems more like give them an inch and they want to take a mile.

I love the idea. Hear, hear! I was just cruising some vanilla zones with a guildie earlier, and ended up helping some loners at a few world bosses. So many zones are dead right now, it would be nice to give folks who have already done the quests there a reason to visit again. 😁👌🏼

Who is taking the mile in this scenario? Honest question, not a troll.

I think promoting a zone on a regular basis is a good idea; however, I don't think that double mats from nodes will do it.

My experience farming in a 'double mats' zone is that I find less than half the normal nodes dues to overpopulation so the math is a loser.

Rather, I'd suggest double drops from any and all bosses in the zone. That would boost activity across the zone as folks visit delves, public dungeons, WBs and criss cross the zone doing so. It seems to me that this might better achieve the worthwhile objectives that OP lays out in the opening post.
