Issue after Login - mouse and keyboard controls do not work on Character screen (stuck) (PC / Steam)

Reinstalled ESO and DLCs via steam a day or two ago, after a long absence.

I believe i am fully patched up.

Issue -

Open Steam > Press 'Play ESO' > Launcher opens, Press Play > Auto-Login through Steam ( i don't press anything) > Loading screen > Character Creation Screen opens but mouse any keyboard controls won't work.

This is a new account with no characters built yet.

I can move the mouse and click, but it 'sees through' the game window and only clicks on the underlying windows (Steam or the Launcher). Can't select or type anything, or move past this screen.

Tried multiple times, have verified all files via the repair on launcher.

My suspicion is this is something to do with the Steam Login process.

Can anyone advise on how to resolve this issue?

It isn't a crash, but not being able to use any controls prevents me from even starting again!

Full reinstall done now, still can't play the game or do anything. No controls at all past login.

Should auto login stick me straight into character creation anyway?

Anyone ever had the same problem?

Issue solved by unplugging external back up drive.
