Please give us an option for something other than a statuette in our ESO+ monthly gift.

Please, ZOS, please give us an option to collect something other than these statuettes every month in ESO+.

I signed up for a yearly sub when I started playing because I had seen all these cool threads about how you'd get a few loot boxes with your sub every month or other cool or useful gifts.

But.. these statuettes are not cool, useful, or fun, at least for me. Don't get me wrong, people seem to enjoy making mini-shrines to evil pseudo-gods well enough, but I'm not one such person. Please. Give an option for a crate, or a pack of crown-store consumables, or just something other than a little statuette. I don't want to poke'mon these things and "catch" 'em all. I didn't claim the one from last month, I'm not claiming the one from this month, and I only claimed the one from Jan because it was something free. But now I'm to the point where I realize that.. most people are more than happy to give you their trash for free, that doesn't mean you should take it or that it's going to be of any actual value to you.

Comparing this to trash is unfair, I'll admit. I see people excited over these little G.I. Joedras so, ya know, it's nice you're scaling down in-game statues for people to do crazy stuff with. Yet there's quite a few people that really don't care. People that'd jump on literally anything else but, instead, just claim them to add to a collection of junk they're never going to use because they feel like they aren't making the most of what they paid for otherwise. I really desperately want something else, I've seen quite a few people who would go for something else if given the option. So, please. Let us choose between the statuettes and some other bit of tosh. For those of us who don't want these things in our homes, only use homes as a quick way to get from place to place, or even don't have homes for whatever reason. Please give people like us some little useful or fun doodad, too.

Like I said, a loot crate (any, current, previous, or random), some crown consumables, an xp scroll, just anything that might be useful or fun for an adventurer instead of a homesteader. Don't take the things away, people really enjoy them, but just let us choose which one to have. Please.

I'd prefer to get some lootcrates with useless junk that I can convert to gems which I can save over time to get something that I actually care about.

If loot crates were just an option and not the sole free thing we get every month, then I guess, but I absolutely do not want to go back to where loot crates were the free rewards given to ESO+ members. Most is junk and while you can convert the junk to gems, they don't add up very fast on console without Twitch drops.

But, I really think that crates, if they do ever give them out again, should be in the daily rewards, along with the other consumables that we mostly get, since that's what we're guaranteed to get in the crates.

However, while I do like the statuettes, I agree that there should be more variety. We did get a costume one month in addition to the statuette, so I'd like to see other things like mounts/pets/costumes perhaps on a quarterly basis if they're going to continue with the statuettes.

On the other hand, these are free items, and not everyone is going to like what's offered in a given month. Same is true for the daily rewards or the CS offerings. That said, offering the same thing every month guarantees that a certain percentage of the player base is never going to like the free offer and, in a sense, are being excluded.

ZOS, please consider introducing some variety to your monthly free offer for ESO+. Otherwise, this new benefit will become trivialized.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. A monthly stipend of gems would have been a much better way to reward ESO-Plus subscribers.

That being said, I'll leave you with a quote from a very wise man(my dad), 'If someone offers you something for free, take it, they may not offer next time if you don't.'

There are exceptions to that for sure, but it does turn out true more often than not

I agree the statues are a poor loyalty gift. It would be better if Zos had just avoided it all together.

However, I see it unlikely that Zos would create 2 or 3 different things every month for us to chose from . I think Zos just decided to not give us anything really nice so they could sell the nice stuff in the crown store, or put it in the crates.

You make it sound like accepting the statuette each month is some kind of burden to you. You just accept it, it unlocks the furnishing in your collectors menu then thats it. You're not obliged to use it. Nor is it junking up your inventory.

    Stop your moaning.

Personally i really like them. Since there are a finite amount of "gods" in the tes universe, it is logical to conclude that the statuettes will eventually end, and when that happens they will perhaps decide to offer a different type of free gift for eso +

It's all because people were whining too much about "evil gambling crates".
Now you can hope for changes for the better only after they give away ALL the tiny statues of all Tamriel gods/semigods. Maybe in between they will be "dropping a bone", such as free costume once every 6 months. After that...who knows what useless stuff they come up with.
Pff.. so far their so called "consistency" is to give away useless junk consistently.

Id rather get a half stack of tri stat pots , or some garden stuff, or a pet, etc. I also noticed they really made the daily login rewards boring as hell. I actually use to log in to get the loot crates. Now i cant be bothered and only log in if i actually feel like doing something. So that WAS working.

It is a burden. It's something worthless to me, if they gave an option for something akin to a few tri-potions or just some other small little boon like that OR the statuette then there'd be no "moaning" from me, because then I'd at least the thing that's part of the deal in the sub and it wouldn't be without value or use to me. As it is, it's something that is part of a whole package that my money has gone towards yet benefits me in absolutely no way because I can't choose to take something useful to me, my only choice is collect junk or don't collect junk.

There is no "free" here, this is part of the deal, part of the sub until they change the deal. There's nothing wrong with me expecting that something they said was part of the deal be of use to me. An option to choose between "X special monthly item" or "Y secondary "care package"" (or something else along those lines) that'd be useful to me would be immensely helpful.

It's great you like them, good on you. I'm glad you're getting things you enjoy. But if it doesn't take away from your ability to get the specially selected monthly item why are you against me getting to choose a secondary thing like a few tri-potions, a loot crate, or some similar little item?

You're missing the point, the point is that previously generally useful items were given out, now items that are only useful for a very particular part of the game, homemaking, and for only very particular themes, Daedra worship, are being given away. And despite their claim it's *not* free, if I have to pay to get access to these "free" items and they outright say that subbing gets me this thing then it's part of the whole deal. To this extent, I state, again, that it's not wrong of me (or anyone) to expect something that's part of a paid deal to be at least a little useful to them. But no, I have no alternate options, I also can't convert these things or sell them. They're just there, either I claim them and store trash that'll never see the light of digital day, or I don't and get essentially the same value - nothing. Either way the lack of any alternative for something useless to me means I'm getting less for my money than those who are happy to get the statuettes do. Since it's all digital there's no real reason for that.

The price of eso+ before the statuettes was £8.99 a month.

The price of eso+ after the statuettes is £8.99 a month.

So in that sense they are free. If you consider them a big part of the "deal" then i'd consider playing something else. I can't imagine subbing to a game unless i already wanted to play it. That would be incentive enough. Everything else is just gravy. Crafting bag, crowns, xp and gold bonus to name a few.

Your complaint is a bit like moaning to the management of a hotel for providing a mint chocolate candy on your pillow instead if another confectionery of your choice.

Also please explain how it's a burden to you. I'm quite interested to know how exactly.

They should vary the rewards, yes. Imagine if we got a dress EVERY MONTH as a free gift. I'd love it, but not all subscribers would. (Tbh, I think a dress would be generally more appreciated than a statuette - statuettes are beyond useless.)

A fair point. Although, I don't know that it necessarily negates mine. It is just my opinion that if they had offered, say 50 gems per month, instead of the 150 extra crowns and/or the free statues, the majority of subscribers would have preferred it . I may even be wrong, but it is something to consider.

Personally, I think costume rewards should be unisex, as not everyone plays multiple genders of characters. That way, it works for EVERYONE.

That was actually my point, though. Dresses do not suit everyone, nor do the statuettes. I could have used any other example, but I chose to mention dresses because I know some people REALLY do not care for dresses... and that is exactly how I feel about the statuettes.

Not everything will suit everyone all the time, and so a good compromise would be to vary the rewards so they appeal to a different range of tastes from one month to the next.

I agree, OP. When the merchant went on sale, I bought the 3 month subscription instead of crowns (on my main account) due to the advertised improvements to ESO+. I liked the craft bag, but disliked having DLC dungeons included in the random dungeon finder. The free monthly idol was just insulting; even if housing restrictions weren't too tight, I'd never honor some trash daedric prince. In the end, I didn't renew eso+ when it expired. Money talks, and the value provided fell short of my expectations. Lots of players seem to like the statuettes, I don't. I'm just posting to add a name and a reason to my unsub.

Further, the short fall between expectations and realization with ESO+ has made me hesitant to pre-purchase Elsewyr. I'll buy in when the reviews are positive.

Wasn't the Priestess of Mara costume a free ESO plus reward? I liked that. Might be nice to mix it up a bit, some things like that instead of just the statuettes. Having a few crown crates would be a good incentive for subscribing especially since they seem to have taken away the crates as log in rewards :(
