I don’t recommend TCE at all. Join a good guild and ask to buy or sell in guild chat. Ask an officer to be go-between for extra protection if you don’t know the other guildie. Most officers will do this for free, unlike TCE’s 10% cut and fixed pricing at 200g per crown.
TCE insurance fund must be slang for officers pockets. With having never suffered a scam your fund doesn't need to be several hundred million gold.

I think there's a common misconception that we have billions stashed away in the guild and personally, for those who don't take the time to understand how we operate.
TCE NA takes 5% taxes, sure, but not on all sales, or even close to most. The tax only applies to sales that are equal to and over 1 million gold, as well as sales conducted by Trial Sellers, as they haven't had time with us to be properly "vetted." That said, we review and promote Trial Sellers on a weekly basis. This means even less taxes being taken as they can fly without a broker on anything under 1 million gold.
We take 7% on sales using Plus Sellers, as there is no training given to them and no vetting. This means Brokers do a lot more work as these sellers don't have direct access to the incoming sales, for Buyer safety.
Additionally, that money taken as taxes isn't just getting thrown into a bank to rot. With over 380 sellers on PC-NA, there are only 30ish Brokers, being it's a very highly regarded job that requires a lot of trust and knowledge of our procedures, as well as a big time commitment. As such? Each week all taxes collected get split down the middle. Half goes to the guild, half gets distributed between the Brokers based on how many sales they actually Brokered. They worked hard and deserve to be compensated for their time.
So yes, we tax some sales. Yes some goes into the Guild Bank as insurance, but not nearly what people seem to think. Hopefully this information is enlightening and gives everyone a bit of an idea of both how much time/effort is put into this system as well as where things go. : )
Sounds alot like you still have millions in gold in the guild bank. 25k gold per transaction over 1 mil, 7% on "Plus Sellers", and so on. sounds like half of what people thought went to the guild, is still going to the guild to rot. With having never suffered a scam that money starts to add up real fast.
Keep in mind, I'm not saying this SHOULDN'T happen, it's being run like a business, but at least be honest about it.

I wouldn't bother. Joined the discord half a year ago and apparently you need to go through some system of even being allowed to sell crown store items. Put in my "resume" and was ignored for 3 months so I just left it and found some random to trade with. If you're in a guild you trust you might try asking some one there.

Some of the info above posted in response to me is incorrect. My info comes from when I was a seller on TCE NA. Back when I sold, the take was 10%. I had a lot of crowns to get rid of and did many transactions, totalling around 10 million gold at least. I was never promoted. So I inquired. I was told that if I questioned it, it would likely be even longer before I could skip the commission. In other words, keep selling and giving us our cut and don’t rock the boat. I promptly left after that. No thanks. I can see why sellers jumped ship and the price had to be raised to try to lure more to meet demand.
And I should point out that I was/am a high cp player and long-term member in good standing of several big trade guilds. Vetting me was a no brainer. Where was their risk? What were they being compensated for?
P.S. You don’t need TCE to have safe crown transactions, and you don’t need to place your trust in some random from zone chat. You need a GM of a guild whom both parties trust to act as a middleman. Most GMs will do this for free if at least one party is a guildie. The person buying the crown gift sends the gold to the GM. The GM screenshots it and posts the screenshot on discord. Then, the seller sends the crown gift. Once the gift is accepted, the seller screenshots the notification of acceptance and posts it on discord. GM hands over the gold. Pretty simple.
