Has anyone switched from Console ( Xbox ) to PC?

I have been entertaining the idea of doing this. I do, however have over 1,000 hours on my Xbox One X and I have 0 friends that play on PC. That said, I know that the use of mods, performance and other such QoL things exist on PC. Though... I would still play with a controller, I'd imagine.

If I left Xbox, I would completely abandon it as I wouldn't want to balance time between the two.

I guess my fear is that the console population will die out, but that could just be my paranoia as it seems active.

Thoughts/suggestions?

I do also shutter at the notion of starting over completely again, all my mounds, skins, items, pets, homes, useless.

I know people who went from PS4 to PC but they return to PS4 because of the community they know. But they say PC is easier on literally everything.

I went from PC back to Xbox since it looks so much nicer and actually runs better now than my laptop. While the mods are OK, I just prefer console. That is my choice. You are correct about bouncing between the two. That is what I was doing and basically got no where. Since I am giving up on PC I am like you but in reverse. It's just something you want to accept. While I didn't have to start from zero it is a pain in the arse to do all the research, horse training again.

BUT if it's your platform of choice, then go for it. :)

Just remember their is no voice chat on the PC version. Also can your computer handle it?

I left PC to go console. Never thaught of going back. It might be better now. I think they added controller support? If you do it, during an event is good time.

When going from console to PC it is like a whole new game. I find that i run into a lot of ppl who do not react to the game mechanics as well also. I got so used to things without the addons that I dont depend on them fully. Addons are nice though, the quality of life it adds to this game shows how god awful the Dev's really did when it came to simple stuff that even MMOs from the 90s got right. Im sure there is a lot of politics to being able to transfer accts to PC and console but I dont agree with the fact that I have to repurchase items from the crown store I already own.

I play mostly on Xbox myself but I play on PC from time to time I want to switch but I've been playing on Xbox One since it released and since my PC blew up not long after ESO release in 2014 it wasn't until much later I was able to get a good enough PC to play ESO again but all my friends were on Xbox so I decided to play there instead

I hope that when the next console generation comes out ZOS will allow console to PC transfers.

I know many who moved to pc from console, not sure if they are active on forums now though. The three people I currently speak with who have are currently near max cp with several difficult raids and dungeons under their belt. I can't speak for them but would say it's all up to how driven you are.

I would imagine also that pc has a more diverse crowd and age range. But that's just an assumption based off other games I've played on Xbox. This could be both good and bad - it makes pugging more challenging but also makes it easier to find people interested in the specific things you are looking to do.

I have a whole guild basically full of console transfers. Our main raid team is like 10 XB1 transfers, 1 PS4 transfer, and 1 PC native or something like that.

I switched about 10-sh months ago. Played with controller for a month or two before transitioning to KB/M (just started doing my vMA runs on KB/M and I learned quick).

It's like a whole new game. Most content actually works most of the time. Add-ons are amazing (the raid add-ons are cool but the ones that really do it for me are Lazy Writ Crafter, WritWorthy, EasyTravel, MultiCraft, map addons like Lorebooks/Skyshards, TTC, Master Merchant, and of course CMX and S'rendarr).

After a few days of playing on PC I was quite literally angry that I had wasted so much time and energy playing on XB1 for years.

      1. You need a computer that can run it smoothly without overheating.
      2. Youre going to start from scratch, you will lose everything youve built till now.
      3. You will experience horrid bugs that Console doesnt.

However PC has gamepad support, so at least you can still play with the console feel youre used to. I bought a PC copy on sale and tried it. Immediately felt homesick for all my characters and stuff.

I have played on both and the pc experience is better by far. There are addons that can really improve your game experience in a major way. Also, I believe the game will have more longevity on pc although I base that on nothing but my gut. If you plan on playing the game for the long run I would go ahead and switch. But, make sure you have a fast pc. Don’t believe minimum specs. You need as much machine as you can get your hands on.

It would be nice to play on PC and have Combat metrics and other cool addons like skill timers, etc... but my home computer would probably be too underpowered for the game.....My work computer on the other hand....hmmmm? LOL

I finally bit the bullet and switched on Monday.

CP980 on xbox, lvl 31 on pc

Overall it is a better experience, less input lag, less choppy frame rate, better (customisable) visuals, smoother mount transition and nicer menus - - you can still use your controller and have the console menus back for familiarity if you need.

Then there's the addons, map pins being the most useful for me when trying to recover my game status.

Weaving is also a hell of a lot easier.

      Definitely worth it.

If you have the means to play an a decent PC, this game is objectively better in just about every way. The are only 2 compelling arguments for Console over PC IMHO. 1. You have a console and dont have a gaming PC. 2. You have RL friends that play on console and want to stay with them. Both are perfectly legitimate reasons.

I am admittedly biased because other than my first morrowind playthrough (done on xbox), I have always played open world RPGs on a PC. I have played ESO on console a few times just to see how it played. The short version is that I would sooner stop playing than play on console. I wont say PC is perfect (far from it) but it is light years ahead of console. The graphics are superior, the performance is better, Mouse and Keyboard > Xbox controller (and even if you disagree, you can use one on PC), and the quality of life addons are just too important to pass up if you care about the value of your time.

Population is 10x what it is on console & addons are <3

I had well over 2k hours across 12 toons on ps4. I've only logged back into my ps4 account once since switching and that was to give the rest of my gold (just over 3 mil) to my wife. Performance in Cyrodiil alone was worth the switch for me. All the QoL changes that come with PC are just added bonus's. The biggest downside for me was having a really hard time finding end game groups to run with to re-farm all my gear. Even with 400cp and The Flawless Conqueror title it was next to impossible for me to farm my masters weapons because I couldn't find an experienced group that would take me into vDSA. I ended up teaching quite a few pugs how to beat Hiath before I got my Master's Inferno, but now that it's over I can say it was worth the struggle the be able to PvP with it on PC.

Haha, yes the scrubs are many with PC Master race it is one of the few drawbacks, the other thing i miss is the build ingame voice chat, i prefer playing with my PS4 controller, it is superior in terms of ability to animation cancel at least for me. I smash pple just as easily on PC battlegrounds as i did on PS4, so Mouse and keyboard does not grand them any advantage IMO.

I think that xb eu server will die in year or two. Majority of the endgame players have left and the server is only full on incompetent players who cant do sh*t. I widnessed this today on vmos, vmhk and nmol. I have lost my faith on this server.

If had the same toughts but to grind all of the cps and gear and stuff makes me think twice. I just cant find good reasons to play on xb1 eu. It only makes me toxic.

As far as I know right now ZOS will not do a server transfer for you. You will have to start over. When my Job changed and I switched from xbox to PC because of it (I travel often and play ESO on my laptop mostly), support told me they did not do server transfers right now. Hope this helps.
