Went to imperial city to do quests kept getting ganked have a suggestion for changing it how about we get option when entering IC like pve only or normal that is pvp and pve both
●when option for pve other players can't attack you nor you can attack them and you also won't be able to Capture districts and off all the alliance marker won't appear over the pve player this will help remove confusion.
●and normal would be as imperial city is that is both pvp and pve
What do you guys think about the above suggestions

Soloing IC content, even without other players ganking you is still hard, so if they did that the'd have to scale it to the level of player. But it's ok idea I guess. Getting the IC quests done was annoying when just some random encounter could set you back a few minutes of running through hostile zones after respawn to just get to the point you were before (and sometimes getting ganked again).

I think it's quite good with both aspects (PVE & PVP) in an area, there is no other area like this in the game and while it is frustrating to be killed by a mini-zerg or a ganker when you're trying to get your PVE stuff done, it does add a little bit of thrill/fear to it when you're wondering around looking over your shoulder every so often to make sure the coast is clear.

I hate gankers with a passion, they're a big part of why I loathe PVP and want nothing to do with it in any way, shape or form. All I want to do in IC are the quests and after three years I still haven't done them, because I hate PVP so much.

So, I did the IC questline on a empty campaign during Midyear Mayhem. I was prepared to fight other players, but thanks to a little stealth, I never had to actually fight. Its a good questline, and well worth doing.

That being said, the rewards of the Imperial City - Tel Var in particular - are designed around the risk of PVP. If there is a PVE-only version of the city introduced, I don't think it should include Tel Var, Molag Bal loot, skyshards, fish, or achievements. All of those are designed to be obtained with the risk of PVP.

In short, if people want a PVE only IC to experience the questline, I'm fine with that provided that's the only thing they get out of it. Basically, give them a reward-less Story Mode for IC.

I did the quests on my PvE magblade. I wanted to kill things fast so I could stealth to the next objective.

I'm happy with how Imperial City is now, but I wouldn't be upset if they changed it.

I am all for a PVE area where you don't have to queue up for ICS and IC but they would have to get rid of the Tel Var currency. I also think there should be an option for a PVE area only Cyrodiil but get rid of any AP gain in there as well.

I say this because it would let PVPers, like myself, get into campaigns faster and get rid of those pesky PVEers who want to only PVE who are off into whatever-land doing god knows what and doing literally nothing for the campaign.

PVE-only players should be able to collect skyshards. Like the quests, they're not repeatable so these players won't be back.

IC is just not fun. If we go geared for PvE we get ganked at every turn unless we take a zerg whenever we need some quests/skyshard/lorebook grabbed. If we go geared for PvP it takes half an hour to kill anything and we still end up having to depend on a group anyway. Plus, whichever way it goes we still lose our Tel Var.

Same goes if the place is empty. Need help killing those bosses for the achievements? Yeah good luck with that. Want to get some PvP action? There won't be any if you're there by yourself.

Remove Tel Var loss so that 'dying' doesn't actually *** people off. Reduce its droprate if that is what it takes to balance it. Gankers get their AP. PvEr carebears get less afraid of stepping foot down there. Place will likely have more people around to farm chests for motifs, farm bosses for Tel Var, do quests, fish, etc.

You want to further diminish the numbers in IC by separating it into two different instances? No thanks. Most people would probably just hit the pve only IC to farm tel var and I'll be left wandering alone in, what could have been, the best place to PvP on earth

its only good for faction changers and gankers
if u want to do the quests even then they gank u even though u have no tel var

The solution for pve IC quests is to implement instances where others cant come and Zos was lazy about it so we now have IC as a Relic and a place for gankers

The Dark Souls-esque combination of PvE and PvP with consequences to dying is why I love it so much. Of course, if you know what you're doing you can stealth through the whole place on a character that isn't a nightblade and still farm a decent amount of telvar (if you're just doing quests that's even easier to get done while being hidden the majority of the time. That's how I did it). Also never leave your alliance base without at least 1 sigil of imperial retreat (if you see a large number of enemies farming then it might be best to dip and try again later when the area is less hot or try doing the quest in a different campaign).

      • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
      • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

As much as I dislike PvE objectives in a PvP map, I don't think immortal god-mode when questing is a good idea. Would be abused really hard.

They should do something about IC though, because currently not very active besides random ganker here and there.

Mixing PvE and PvP in the same map is pretty much never a success in traditional mmorpgs, because your average player doesn't enjoy getting ganked when trying to progress. So they avoid those maps. It's not that people hate all PvP though, they just dislike non-consensual PvP when they're busy and distracted doing something else.

Not even PvP'ers are overly fond of maps like IC, because to much PvE, NPCs and not enough enemy players or PvP action.

I ran through the IC quest line recently again on a new toon. I did it in Shor so as to avoid most people. I barely saw anyone. I was only killed once, and it was by a zerg, which I was surprised to see. I don’t think it’s really efficient to run IC or sewers with more than 4 people...

Personally, I’m looking forward to the upcoming changes for IC. I’m hoping that I can use it as my guest campaign, and that maybe it’ll be a little more populated.

      I used to think yes, but I´ve learned to adapt;

-I only go to farm Tel Var when my Alliance owns the entire IC and there are very few others there, if any (this means off-hours essentially, and preferably Shor).

-If someone goes for me and I cannot get away, I just stand still and let them kill me without fighting back, then leave IC and go do something else.

-I bank everything above 1000 gold and rarely go above 10k before banking.

-I might consider carrying invisibility potions.

Now this means gankers will only be a nuisance to me, I give them minimal satisfaction, and I just shake-shake-shake it off.

It is probably more profitable for me to farm and be ganked than for the ganker anyway, even if I lose Tel Var, since I get lots of keys, gold, decon gear and sometimes motifs.

It is also a nice place to level up alts if you have prepared crafted gear. Good XP, FG levelling and good loot to boot.

That being said, getting killed while you are doing the questline (including listening to dialogue!) is just stupid.

EDIT: Though TBH I wouldn´t mind an entire 'solo mode' for ESO similar to Elite Dangerous. Sometimes I just want to quest, and, no offense, I generally don´t like you other 'people'. B)
