The Alinor Dresses - What's the hold up?

So. Zenimax. Let's have a little talk here, shall we?

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend of mine, but all with my own words to express my feelings on the matter.

For a long time now, ever since they were datamined, we have known about the existence of three separate dresses that are geared toward Altmer women.

Alinor Twilight Dancing Dancing Dress
Crystal Tower Sapiarch Gown
"Ever Auridon" Sateen Gown

Ever since their existence was datamined, we have seen that they have icon art to go with inclusion into the Crown Store as outfits, yet we haven't seen even the slightest hint of their appearance within the Crown Store. I may not necessarily be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but even I can tell you, clear as day, that these dresses would be extremely popular with a lot of your fashion connoisseur players. I have seen time and again that people have expressed disappointment or their wish to see these make an appearance in some form of capacity as costumes that players can access.

So. This is the question I wish to put forward.

Why are we not seeing them? What possible reason could you possibly have for sitting on this highly lucrative item that you won't do anything with?

Going back to my friend. She joined ESO too late to be able to get her hands on the Cyrod Gentry Town Gown for her Altmer lady. Like me, she's a roleplayer, which means she likes to have a wardrobe with which to dress up her character. Thus far, the only costume 'dress' that she has been able to get her hands on is the Cyrod Patrician Formal Gown, which, as we know, is an Imperial design. The Nibenese Noble Shawl was also initially a welcome addition, until we found the gems weren't dyeable, thus limiting us to extremely overtly Imperial motifs.

Altmer women, and Khajiit women, are the only race/gender combos left in the game now that don't have any costumes available that are 'tailored' toward them. It is very frustrating to say the least, and every time we have a new Crown Store Showcase, this friend of mine gets more and more upset that you're simply refusing to release these items while then pushing re-releases or further costumes for those race/gender combinations that have plenty already.

Again. Why?

These would sell so well if you would just release them and stop sitting on them indefinitely.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Friend

those dresses not only been datamined but also worn by various npcs, all over the Tamriel - and not only in Summerset. Even before Summerset, tbh.
The Summersert chapter was a perfect time to add those dresses to the crown store - just like they did with Morrowind chapter and dunmeri outfits, both male and female.
But Summerset dresses never appeared, and I cant help but be both sad and dissapointed about that matter too.

The Hircine and Sheogorath statuettes that are the February/March ESO+ items were datamined in July 2017.
The Psijic Mascot Wolf Pup we're getting in this month's Daily Rewards was datamined April 2018.

Not everything found is intended for immediate release.
Some of it isn't intended for release at all. The same January 2017 datamine with the Altmer dresses has a Forester’s Hood with Berries and a Rootbrim Hat with Berries, neither of which appeared in the Wild Hunt crate season and are still unreleased.

It's one thing to show interest in assets in the game as future Crown Store items. There's an anniversary of something every year, and there's always an opening to directly revisit previous content.
It's another to belittle and lecture a company based on third party sources that have not been officially confirmed.

To protest the invasion of their homeland by hordes of nebarra, the Dressmakers Union on Summerset went on strike, refusing to make new, beautiful dresses for Queen Ayrenn until she agrees that these gowns should only be worn by elven ladies of the purest of Altmer bloodlines. Auriel forbid that those nebarra might dye those fine gowns in garish colors!

Unfortunately for them, Ayrenn prefer to wear her armor and couldn't care less about their demands to protect Altmer purity. So the gowns languish, unseen and unworn, until one side or the other gives up the fight.

(IDK, maybe ZOS can't fix the dye channels?)

How much of a fanboy you have to be to defend this? Firstly, those outfits have been in the game for years already so it's not "third party sources", secondly there is absolutely no reason for holding them off rather then some unreasonable figurative "f**k you" to the players who expected them to appear during Summerset chapter and still haven't gotten them almost a year after, all while getting tons of re-re-re-recycled crap from previous seasons.

A third party source said they were costumes coming to the Crown Store. This has not been officially confirmed.
If you think not releasing them is a personal attack, that's your issue to figure out. Not theirs.

I should add that the third party source never said they were coming to the Crown Store. Only that there was artwork done for the icons for said crown store. Descriptions, too. I don't have them to hand right now, but as soon as they're available again, I'll be more than happy to post them up.

Agreed. It's also never been confirmed by an employee of ZoS that they're in the works, so I don't understand the rage over the fact that we haven't received them as of yet.

They know how much we all want them so I'm sure they'll make it happen at some point, and posting about wanting them as an option in the crown store is great because it keeps them aware of the demand for the product.

What isn't great is people getting mad at ZoS for not releasing said product that was never promised in the first place...simmer down folks.

I suspect that we'll see these during Summerset's anniversary.

The only races which have had extra costumes have been Nord, Redguard, and Imperial. Redguard females have the extra Garden Gala Overdress, and Nord males have 2 extras with the Rawhide Riften Jerkin (still in the CS) and the one that was a daily reward (I forget the name). And of course, the Nibenese Noble dress for Imperials. Let me know if I've missed any here.

Also, female Bosmer outfits were some of the first to release in the CS, and we've only recently gotten the male Bosmer outfits. Same with Orcs - the male costumes were some of the first, with female ones only appearing recently.

Dunmer was a bit of an anomaly, since they released both male/female versions during the same timeframes and all around the launch of Morrowind. Imperial male and female versions also appeared close to each other.

So, I can understand the frustration, as I've also been waiting for Altmer dresses to appear in the CS. But, at the same time, it's taken them a while to get to other races/genders, too. I'm assuming they will eventually get around to every race/gender, since they have eventually gotten around to everyone except female Altmer and Khajiit, and the third option for female Nords, let's not forget.

I suspect we'll see Khajiit female clothing with Elsweyr. And, as I said earlier, we can hope for Altmer dresses with a Summerset anniversary.
