Did ZOS Nerf Trap Plants? (resolved)

When I approach my trap plant, it will hit me, but it does not hit me again unless I walk away and then come back. I am not sure when this started, but it was this year. Prior to this the plant would hit me every few seconds.

I have tried taking up the plant and placing it again to no effect.

Has anyone else noticed that Trap Plants are nerfed?

It's a serious question. I bought it with gems and placed it next to a target dummy. That particular plant used to strike approximately every 2 seconds without me having to move away from it.

Try moving the two items further away from each other. I had an issue where the Winter Festival Hearthfire stopped working as a provisioning station after the update. I had always had a stool in front of it but for some reason after the change they were now too close to each other and the fire stopped being selectable. After moving them further apart everything started working again. My guess is something changed with the objects hit box or coordinates to cause them to overlap where previously they didn't. It might not be your problem but is is easy to try.

Just for giggles and grins I just went to my house and the plant will keep attacking me every couple of seconds if I stand still.

Thank you @Alinhbo_Tyaka ! It was exactly as you thought. I moved the items further away as you suggested and that solved the problem.

I also noticed a yellow ring around the plant and if the target dummy was outside the ring, the trap plant worked as expected.
