Pe(s)t control

Since now pets (at least one) are almost a must for magsorc DD it would be nice if control over it were improved a bit. As it is very hard to keep track of what that thing is doing, especially the matriarch one, since it is usually flying somewhere behind you and you never know if (and what) it is attacking.

A small step but large improvement would be if Daedric Prey would act as a taunt for the pets, meaning they would immediately start attacking the target that you applied Daedric Prey to. I mean it just makes sense.

And yes I know you can press pet command button and attack at the same time on a target, but even that does not work like it should and pet does start to attack but not always what you wanted.

+ for deadric pray/hunting curse as pet taunt. Best idea I have heard in ages, even ever, on the forums. Take my money and give me this.

We can already control what are pets are attacking. There is a pet command button that you hold while clicking with right or left mouse button while targeting an enemy.

What we actually need is a way to order our pets where they should go and stand. Now we literally have to herd them like animals. If we could use the pet command button with right mouse click while p[ointing at empty space, that would be awesome.

Like I said above I am fully aware that you can control pets this way. But why should you, when they are Daedric, and you curse something to be Daedric Prey?

And the thing you mention above already works. Pet Control Button + Right Click will call the pet to you and make it stop attacking.

A pet command Radial menu would be nice. This isn't a perfect idea or anything, but I would just copy the functions of the quickslot menu that we already have.

Hold Y(Default key) to bring up a selection wheel. From there, you will select between these options:
    - Focus Target to have them attack something you tell them to until given another command.
    - Assist player so that they will attack the last enemy you hit with a light attack.
    - Guard mode where it'll defend you or itself when attacked by something. Does not show aggression when combat starts.
    - Passive state where they simply follow you like they do out of combat, and do not attack anything.

Choosing one of those will change the base function of the Y key, and using that key will execute the command, like for focus target. Associating icons can be a red sword for attacking, a white target reticle for assist mode, a blue shield for defending, and something that's green for passive.

Most of us know u can make pets stop attacking them. And make them attack someone specific. But in battle, while doing rotation, you will not find the time to command them. That's why I think hunting curse/deadric pray will be a great taunt

Yes heavy attack does act as a taunt for pets. So why does a curse called Daedric Prey not?

I do not want to be doing heavy attacks, ever. I want to do a full light attack rotation with the pet and prefferrably I want the pet to be attacking the same target as me. Right now this is not quite obvious (unless you are doing HA).

Heavy attacks with inferno staff are clunky and completely ruin your rotation and a huge DPS loss I might add, so I try to avoid them as much as possible. For now I am sticking with the command pet plus left click. At least I am lucky enough to play on PC as if I read that correctly console players are forced to HA?

You dont have to make a full heavy attack. Do the medium attack.

Hmm on my warden i just heavy attack the target i want my bear to focus

Which only works if you don't use a frost staff or don't take the destruction staff tri focus. Otherwise you've simultaneously instructed the bear to attack that target, and taunted that target to attack you.

then swap bars or dont use an ice staff, ZOS has made that a tanking tool. if you want to dps with it ON both bars sorry. And isnt it only fully charged heavy attacks that taunt anyway. so med weave and the pets will attack that.

There are plenty of reasons I would not want deadric prey to act as an attack this button. I put prey on multiple targets and do not want my pets running around attacking everything. Further where does this leave wardens? they do not have prey. Heavy attack is enough. Something needs to be done to give the commands we have on pc to console perhaps something like a long press calls them back.

Or let daedric prey do it. And make it an option to disable then IDGAF

Now now. Let's be honest. ZOS also made it the damage and crowd control tool for wardens.
    Piercing Cold II
Increases your Magic and Frost Damage by 6%.
    Glacial Presence II
Increase chance of applying Chilled to enemies with Winter's Embrace abilities by 200%.
    Wall of Elements IV
3510 MagickaSlam your staff down to create an elemental barrier in front of you, dealing 470 Magic Damage to enemies in the target area every 1 second. Wall of Fire deals additional damage to Burning enemies. Wall of Frost reduces enemy Movement Speed and immobilizes Chilled enemies. Wall of Storms sets Concussed enemies Off Balance.

So I don't take tri focus or ever use fire or shock staves on my wardens.

Curse tooltip says, you can only have one curse active at a time, so if you cast it on a 2nd target I guess its gone from the first. No point casting it on everything, you are just wasting magicka.

Oof mate, f in the chat for you here. You can't put it on multiple targets. Rip all your wasted magicka across the hours you played.

We've asked for Prey to do that for years and got nadda. Remember We get even less on Console than you get, they only added heavy attack to focus pets like last year and that was well overdue.

Daedric prey would make a ton of sense, but remember there are other pets too.

What I would love the most for now is something on my screen that tells me whether my pet is in aggressive mode or not. Turning around in a raid just to look at the matriach and see if shes hitting something feels terrible. Especially on vHoF last boss where you have to swap states multiple times, but always have to confirm wether your pet is doing what it's supposed to is so annoying.

I also wish they would remove the heavy attack focus or give us a toggle in gameplay. I can see how it's important for anyone that plays with a controller as they might lack buttons. In vCR when I am on sphere duty I want my pet to keep hitting Z'Maja or a miniboss and not waste it's DPS on spheres or small adds, but I often enough precharge a HA for spheres when they will spawn making my pet help me kill a sphere and then attack whatever it feels like.

I also really like the suggestion to drastically reduce the size of the matriach, shes always flapping around in the middle of my view.

Having dedicated aggro control with Prey would work best imo, it would also make sorc a lot less clunky to play

i think its about time that they had pets in companion section.. like allow us to have some pets in there.. they dont need voice but maybe some combats can too also have voice..
the thing is we just dont want humans
some can be vamps and wereolves or have the abilty to allow use to turn are companion humans in to vamps
other ideas dweemer and dwarfs of old and others from ancient linage line of that race or classes..
    other could in include fwemer..
