What we actually need is a way to order our pets where they should go and stand. Now we literally have to herd them like animals. If we could use the pet command button with right mouse click while p[ointing at empty space, that would be awesome.

I never noticed this on console, is it even there?
Yes heavy attack does act as a taunt for pets. So why does a curse called Daedric Prey not?
I do not want to be doing heavy attacks, ever. I want to do a full light attack rotation with the pet and prefferrably I want the pet to be attacking the same target as me. Right now this is not quite obvious (unless you are doing HA).
Heavy attacks with inferno staff are clunky and completely ruin your rotation and a huge DPS loss I might add, so I try to avoid them as much as possible. For now I am sticking with the command pet plus left click. At least I am lucky enough to play on PC as if I read that correctly console players are forced to HA?

Which only works if you don't use a frost staff or don't take the destruction staff tri focus. Otherwise you've simultaneously instructed the bear to attack that target, and taunted that target to attack you.

Piercing Cold II
Increases your Magic and Frost Damage by 6%.
Glacial Presence II
Increase chance of applying Chilled to enemies with Winter's Embrace abilities by 200%.
Wall of Elements IV
3510 MagickaSlam your staff down to create an elemental barrier in front of you, dealing 470 Magic Damage to enemies in the target area every 1 second. Wall of Fire deals additional damage to Burning enemies. Wall of Frost reduces enemy Movement Speed and immobilizes Chilled enemies. Wall of Storms sets Concussed enemies Off Balance.

I put prey on multiple targets and do not want my pets running around attacking everything. Further where does this leave wardens? they do not have prey. Heavy attack is enough. Something needs to be done to give the commands we have on pc to console perhaps something like a long press calls them back.
Or let daedric prey do it. And make it an option to disable then IDGAF
+ for deadric pray/hunting curse as pet taunt. Best idea I have heard in ages, even ever, on the forums. Take my money and give me this.
