Stam Dk vs Stam Warden PVP

x_Demogorgon_x
I’m torn between which character I should make a main PvP. Stam DK or Stam Warden.

What do my PVP experts think is better?

sDK is fun to play but you will be stacked with Weapon Abilities and few Magicka based buffs. Venomous Claws and Noxious Breath are just not worth slotting. So your class-based stamina abilities will be extremely limited (non-existent). Also the class passives are worse than Stamdens. The sDK sustain is so bad that you are almost forced to use Bone Pirate.

Stamden is overperforming at the moment, at least in groups. They have amazing healing, infinite sustain, huge burst damage, incredible survability. What they lack compared to sDK is proper CC. IMO stamden is boring to play, but you will be better off with Stamdens. Sub Assault -> Dawnbreaker -> Spin2Win. Simple, effective rotation. Throw in few Cliff Racers.

Stamden is pretty beastly you can’t ignore it. For packing up potato’s it’s almost unrivaled. Stamina DK is more fun to play but it’s also tougher to get down. Lacks a good burst love. It’s harder to 1vX imo becuse it’s slower than stamnden. But you’ve got major mending and minor brutality on one buff which is insane for your heals. Hard to say, it’s personal preference.

Dude venomous claw is probably the hardest hitting dot in the whole game and it's initial damage is pretty decent as well. Definitely worth slotting. But the whole Stamden SubAssault,-Dawn Breaker-Execute burst combo is crazy OP in PvP allowing them to pack enough damage in a tight window to kill you even if you have the Stam to break free instantly.

While I agree it's a cheap, good DOT, I believe Rending outperforms with its bleed, which won't be mitigated. Of course if one has skill slots available to slot both, even better. But as I have to choose between them, I always pick Rending/Blood Craze.

Wow so wrong about stamdk, claw and noxious are very much viable (every pro meta stamdk uses both of those) and stamdk is probably the easiest class to sustain in pvp thats why stamdk meta is 7th fury with all dmg glyphs and mundus with just dubious/arteum and bloodspawn being very much enough to sustain.

Viable yes but bleeds still outperform both abilities Especially noxious breath which is bottom tier awful. Only seasoned players can sustain with those sets on a stamDK. Regardless, whatever you put on a stamDK it will be better on a stamwarden.

StamDK is my PVP main and I would probably pick another class / spec in retrospect. It’s not bad and can be fun at times but pretty much anything StamDK can do, Warden can do the same and usually better.

For bleeds you need to be a dot build dw/2h stamdk, which is inferior to s&b dk, and noxious is used mainly for the major fracture not the dot so you can use heroic instead of ransack, and yes stamden is better than stamdk in everything except tankyness and dueling.

You have to heavily invest in persuasion skill to be able to convince your targets to patiently stand still (or even actively cooperate) while you're trying to land Noxious Breath on them. ^^ This thing is harder to land than a space shuttle.

Wow, if you think sDK is the easiest class to sustain, you honestly haven't played any other class lol.

And every 'pro' player can get away with any skills really, that's why they are pro. When reflecting class balances and comparing them to how pro players fare, you've gone the wrong way.

I play every stam class and i find stamdk by far the easiest to sustain, are you running heavy armor 2h/s&b? Because thats where sustain is the best for stamdk.

@Trancestor , it's all about bugged, clunky hit box. The cone may be okay on paper, but it's been bug-ridden since forever, even when target stands very close there's a good chance that Noxious will simply miss them. That topic keeps surfacing, but ZOS wouldn't do anything about it, and even if they did, the Dot is very weak.

Now I do run S&B/2H sDK build when I'm (admittedly not often) in PvP, and I much prefer ransack/pierce over the unreliable and weak-hitting Noxious. But it's still a weapon skill, chips away another bit of enjoyment of actually playing the class.

Again, dont have problems with it, hits 95% of the time for me and when it doesnt its because the target is really fast.
