Champion System and the future of ESO

Does everybody agree that the whole "item cp level" thing is beyond nonsense? I think, with the possible removal/rework of the champion system should also include a rework on item levels.

BTW I fully agree that the CP should be reworked.

At least make it so the highest level items are "Level 50", not "Cp160". The whole "Leveling to cp160" process is confusing and boring for new players. I've been playing since release and I got used to it but whenever I introduce one of my friends into the game and they learn about the concept of "the game only begins at cp160", they only focus on getting to that level cap and then get bored of the game because they didn't enjoy the process at all. Leveling should be done for getting extra skills and some stat bonuses, not something you should do to only begin collecting your actual gear.

If you don't remove/rework this boring level system, new players will get bored of the game. It feels like you're not playing the game at all, just grinding until 160 to actually start playing. Which is boring. It wasn't like this for me the first time I started playing because zones had level requirements, resulting in a deeper feeling of character process. Now everything scales to 160 so it's really boring to be able to kill anything but not being able to keep your items for further gameplay.

I'd say with the removal/rework of cp, item level cap should be locked at 50. The whole "160" thing is just confusion for new players and it creates an illusionary milestone to reach that point, only to find out that it was nonsense.

Vet levels where bigger grind. I see people at communicating 160 in a couple days and just blink when I remember back in my day it took month at least. Still the system is flawed. Gear under 160 doesn't sell it fine much use. Progression is to linear with current company system being just about damage for most part.

Totally agree, I hate that equipment has some kind of additional requirement on top of your character level.

Equipment should always be level 50 at max and don't have any strange CP requirement on top of that.

OK. Let's start at the beginning with what You believe is a rhetorical question. To answer the first question - .. NO

You have every right to your opinion. But I don't agree with it. And I am certain others don't agree with it. Problem is, you push on like everyone is in your boat and you are driving.

This game has more quests, more zones, more variety of things to do than any game I have ever seen, yet you act like the only thing to do is run dolmens to level 50/160. You say "Grinding" to 160 is Boring. I'm doing quests, getting achievements, playing a character, playing a Story, in short - Playing the game. And playing the game is Not boring.

the CP system is fine the way it is. It certainly isn't making the game boring or difficult for new players.

I'll say this one again, if there's a change to item levels, my vote is to remove them entirely. Let gear stats float the way event provisioning recipes do now. (Or failing that, the way normal recipes do. So you have Iron gear which scales 1-15, Steel Gear that scales 1 - 25 (and matches Iron from 1-15), Orichalcum that scales 1-35, Dwemer that scales 1-45, and Ebony which scales 1-CP160.
