Restarting Dark Brotherhood After Abandoning?

I had a full quest log, so I abandoned the initial quest to start the Dark Brotherhood. Now I've freed a lot of space for quests, but I can't seem to start this again. I've tried going into collections, but it just shows the quest was started. I've visited a couple Outlaws Refuges, can't find anything. Tried going to the dark brotherhood sanctuary, but they won't let me in because I guess I'm not a member. any ideas?

Go to the docks in the city of Anvil, there should be a person there who will talk to you about the dark brotherhood. That should advance the string to the quest to kill an innocent in Anvil. If it does not, only thing I can think of is kill an innocent in Anvil (any npc will do) and come back to the docks where a courier should aproach with a message from the brotherhood. Hope this helps.

Travel to Anvil and look for the Amelie Crowe, you may be able to find the starter NPC in any Outlaws Refuge...

Just throwing this in there, with no idea if it helps, however it has on occasion helped me: if you know where an NPC should appear but the NPC isn´t there, relogging helps, and I think (suspect) standing in the right place when relogging might help more.


Oh and PSA: If you, like me, felt unfulfilled at the end of the Wasten Coraldale Lost at Sea Quest, I managed to solve it by standing in the right place where the NPCs should appear (Plaza of the Hand), and relogging. Mighty annoying when they are not there since the quest ending you get from talking to Wendlain is one of the more well done in the game.

I guess it depends on where you left off, but if you don't have access to the Gold Coast Sanctuary yet, I would check the lighthouse in Anvil for Speaker Terenus; that is, if you went far enough before abandoning to earn the Blade of Woe.
If you don't have the Blade of Woe unlocked yet, you'll probably need to find Amelie again, as others have mentioned.

Thank you VERY much, everyone! What finally worked for me was visiting Speaker Terenus in the lighthouse. I thought I was SOL.
