Do you use Swift anymore?

As the title says, i am curious?

I have tried. I want to change out for either Infused or Protective. I really do. But i am just so addicted to speed, that i can't help it. Especially now that i lost my permanent Major Expedition from pots. That 18% movement speed is still alot. I know i probably should try to adapt to back to playing without it. I am sure there is much more value in the 5k-ish resistance or the extra damage/sustain from Infused. But speed is just so difficult to get with so few sources of it....

Currently almost all my builds run Steed + 3 x Swift for a permanent 28% speed increase, and then access to Major Expedition through the usual skills.

All you who used Swift before the nerf. Are any of you still clinging on like me, or did you all go to other traits?

No, and the only reason I haven't deconned my gold Swift jewelry is because I could eventually transmute it to something else.

Swift was way over-nerfed. I will never enjoy wearing Swift again until they bump up to at least 8%. Even 7% would be a significant improvement.

Swift was nerfed finely. All the other forms of mobility getting gutted is the issue.

I use cowards too, but play mostly in no cp bg's and sotha so it helps with sustain as well.

also its dirt cheap/free since I do pvp alot.

Yep. I still use it on my stamblade.

Nobody would consider my stamblade to have a "good" build, though, so there's that.

No, triune and protective exist. Also infused.

Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

There's no reason to ever use swift jewelry really. Use the Steed mundus instead, it's a lot better. If you're running 2 stat traits you'd be losing 870 x2 magicka or stamina for 10% swiftness.

The Steed mundus gives 'Increases run speed by 10% & increases Health recovery by 238'.
The Atronach gives 'Increases Magicka recovery by 238'
The Warrior gives 'Increases Weapon Damage by 238'
The Apprentice gives 'Increases Spell Damage by 238'

So in other words if you want to be fast use the Steed it's a lot better, you'll end up with more stats plus the health regen. No need to transmute pieces.

Already have steed. To be honest its not cutting it without a source of major expedition.

I use 2 swift on gold jewelry for my magplar. It's great for brawler builds. Could be better and most will usually choose protective over it but it suits my play style better.

The build Ive been running this patch incorporates 3 gold swift, the steed mundus, and the windrunner passive. I have the equivalent of major expedition at all times. Also have 28k health, 35k stam, and 5.5k wd.

Steed is nice if you mesh it with troll king. I dont think swift is worth it or needed if you want to build fast as there are other ways that sacrifice less.

When you’re an Xv1 NB I can see how that is good.

It is not. Being fast while casting attack skills is what makes a difference. I rarely sprint in combat unless I'm trying to escape.

I get the feeling a lot of people don't understand what the Swift meta was about or why it is indeed still viable. It's not about being fast, it's about being faster than your opponent (subtle difference there). This does two things. (A) You can back off and get out of range. (B) You can keep hitting them when they're dodge rolling or trying to do the same to you. It's about landing a higher percentage of your attacks. I am thinking mainly of melee builds, of course, but even a ranged build can benefit when a player tries to LoS them.

Saying that Steed is sufficient rather misses the point. It is not. You will feel the real benefit of speed when you stack heavily into it, as that means you're faster than most opponents you encounter. Neither sprint buffs nor low duration Major Expedition buffs quite compare to having the raw speed from both Swift and the Steed mundus.

Melee magblade, in particular, has suffered badly from the shield changes and Healing Ward nerf. I like Protective on other classes, but on my magblade it sucks. I statistically survive better with speed and I have better kill rates due to keeping up with people, especially when Zaan procs. Your mileage may vary. If you are a Fury-wearing DK, it's different.

This build is on my Stamplar, and I’m running:

    2x Blood Spawn
    5x Ravager Frontbar
    5x Hulking Draugr
    2x Draugr Heritage Backbar

I use a Draugr Heritage 2h on the backbar for the 4% healing taken, since healing is rough on a stamplar.

Dropped it off my stam sorc for infused. I do have a set at level 2 that I use for new characters since I can sprint faster than an untrained mount.
