In PVE, do you modify crouch (sneak)

For all classes!

Wether using a potion, a skill, an armor set, or a passive (class passive; champion points; vampire passive; legerdemain passive; medium armor passive; racial passive etc).

Overland questing involves crouching (mandatory or optional).
Even if you don’t do quests, crouching is needed in at least 1 dungeon and at least 1 trial.
Crouching is also needed for some harvesting.
Therefore I’m not going to ask if you have ever crouched at all.

PVE only please, select which you have done in the past, option five is your “all of the above” answer.

Please keep in mind, sometimes you only want one modification, like Vampire’s Dark Stalker, but end up getting 2 anyway because why not.

Don’t open up the spoilers if you want to avoid bias

The only one I know how to change (CP) ^ Sneaking is misery on mag toons.

I have never modified crouch for PVE.

Technically I have modified crouch on a few test characters I had made, but only because it was me just rounding out perks in medium armor. I do not see any real reason to modify it on my more mainstay characters as none are stealthy and I literally never sneak. The closest thing I occasionally get to using sneak is needing to go do something in real life and so I put my character in a secluded corner and sneak to avoid being killed while idle for 5 minutes.

Every single stam DD will have at the very least modified the cost. Every Khajiit or bosmer has modified the detection radius. Every vampire has modified the speed.
People rarely go out of their way for sneak boni, but they sometimes just happen in the proccess of building your charackter.

Also, technically everyone who has done the indrik hunts in March of Sacrafices has modified sneak.

Of course, for overland exploring only NB 4th stage vampire in medium armor, bosmer and khajiit, concealed weapon, snipe one-shotting mobs, otherwise it's unbearable.

Night terror
(3 items) Reduces the radius you can be detected while Sneaking by 2 meters. Reduces the cost of Sneak cost by 27%.

You stack these? I know they stack with Khajiit racial passive but I’m not sure they stack with each other on top of the racial passive. I could have sworn there was a cap in place. Or maybe they only capped stealth speed that one time and not radius.

I see you don’t use Night Silence... (5 items) Ignore Movement Speed penalty of Sneak. ...because you’re a vampire. Vampire is it’s own kettle of fish, some couldn’t be caught dead (harhar) as a vampire.

Exactly my situation, except that I use the Night Terror set rather than Night Mother's Embrace.

Also, when spending the champion points to get Treasure Hunter, some of those often go to the sneak star, and when I can spare the skill points, I occasionally put some into the Legerdemain passive as well.

I couldn't think of a thing that decreased time to crouch until I remembered it was a vampire perk. My main character isn't a vampire, so that isn't something I think about.

That aside, I typically do all of the others, although not always all of the time.

I use Rapids to increase my speed. (Back in the day I also had Concealed Weapon, which I miss, but then I realized that it was probably better to have the spammable stamblade attack.)

I have passives that reduce stamina cost from medium armor and legerdemain. Maybe CP too but I don't remember how much I put there.

When I'm taking my stealthing seriously, I use a Night Mother's Embrace + Night Terror combo to minimize detection radius. (They do stack.)

I feel like this is kind of a weird question to ask. I'm not sure the term "modify crouch" has ever crossed my mind.

I adore stealth. One of my favorite ways to get around. Definitely enjoy all the ways to make it better. My main has a set that removes sneak speed penalty, so I sneak instead of jogging everywhere.

I only modify sneak in PVE (at least, only there on purpose). And for sneaky characters I modify it as much as possible - as others have said:

Night Mothers Embrace + Night Terror (yes, the bonuses stack) + Medium Armor + Khajiit (and previously Bosmer ) + Vampire Stage 4 (2 of my 3 vampires are only vampires because of the stage 4 passive, I don't even care for the rest) + passives from DB and TG

Just for reference, in PVP I don't sneak at all, if I actually want to PVP. There I only sneak if I just need to get somewhere and need to get past enemies without being bothered.

But that's more like because it just kind of happened. Outdoors I find Shadow Rider the most useful sneak, I just ride around mobs and rarely pull anything I don't want. In public indoors, some rhino player will likely come and pull whole instance when I try to be sneaky. Its not a stealth game anyway.

When people pull a whole instance I just stay crouched. As long as I don’t attack the mobs ignore me on their way back.

Some zones are empty enough to make it a stealth game... sometimes.

I know most recently I did the Vvardenfell dailies as a stealth challenge for myself.

I have never modified crouch for PVE.

I voted last option as I don't like vampires and never played one... but, technically once I used the set Shadow Dancer which modifies the crouch speed, just to play with it for a bit in pvp looong ago, after they added the stam regen to the 5 set bonus.

EDIT: Just in case, I mean, while testing I used it for PvE for a while.

I used to have modifications for speed, detection radius and stamina cost. Now, I only have detection radius and stamina cost. Because of the loss of Bosmer stealth bonus, I needed to replace my stealth speed set by something giving me better hiding...

Stamina Khajiit. So at least 2 factors modified without even thinking about it... +legerdemain and Dark Brotherhood maxed. And CP star for sneaking cost, that I always use.

It’s really saddening to see all the people complaining about my 2 favorite dlc of all time. Maybe if they even just made potions they’d have a better time.
