ESO Game Client Mail - UI Error 'attempt to index a nil value'

The following error dialog was displayed when I opened the Mail UI (after logging into the game/account and selecting a character to play):

I dismissed the error, exited the Mail feature, and reloaded the UI. Accessing Mail has not caused the error dialog to be displayed again since. Go figure.

Addons are the first place I’d check. If t causes the error without disabling addons then disable all addons and try again (reload UI first). If it doesn’t happen then you know it’s an addon issue.

If the error message is related to using an add-on, then the error is in the game client API. The Lua error message above begins with EsoUI/. When the error is in add-on code, the message ordinarily identifies the add-on in the first line (or, rarely, at the end of the message instead), depending upon the particular error.

If you use addons Zos first step in helping resolve the issue is to disable all addons. That is very standard.
