Please help a returning mag sorc

I just came back from a break of about 6 months and i'm really struggling to find build for my mag sorc that is actually fun to play. I understand with the shield changes I need to increase my health and resistances for my shields to be effective. That means i also need to start adding spell damage because with low max magica and spell damage i hit like a wet noodle. So to achieve that I get rid of a bunch of recovery and some max stam. Now I can manage to get a kill as long as I don't have to kite/dodge/cc break at all. I'm really trying to adjust my build and adapt to the changes but I'm feeling discouraged. Have any long time mag sorc mains found a build that they are actually in love with right now? Is it still possible to kite and burst at all on a sorc, or am i forced to choose between playing a tanky support potato, and a overly aggressive second rate magden? Sorry for the rant but I just want to know if I should keep working on a build, or just focus on grinding cp and farming gear until we see what happens in update 22? I should probably add that I mostly play no-cp and battlegrounds.

Switch some stats to health and make most traits impen. You will still have enough damage to burst.

Everything impen, Shacklebreaker, lich 1 domihaus and 1 kena with 3 prismatic armor glyphs should give you plenty of resource managment and damage output. Keeping your distance is more imperative now, trying to fight 3 players in an open field is very difficult now. With the dodge changes its easier to land your main combo though.

Thanks for the replys. Since i play no cp I'm running 5 impen and 2 well fitted because of the lower crit rates and lack of cp for rolling around. I will give that lich, shackle, domi, kena setup a try. Thats pretty much what i was running in summerset, except I used a max mag 1 piece monster bonus instead of kena. Sounds like I just need to L2Adjust and keep trying new things until i find a build that feels right.

Use a full monster set. Some have very strong effects far surpassing mismatched pieces. Chudan, Pirate Skeleton, Shadowrend, Zaan and Balorgh are very interesting choices.

I was playing with 2 piece Pirate Skeleton last night and it was alright, but i think i still liked playing with 1 Pirate Skeleton, 1 Domihaus or 1 Pirate Skeleton, 1 Chudan better. 2 piece Chudan does look interesting with the extra health bonus and I'll try that out as soon as a get a shoulder. Shadowrend is alright too bud i tend to shy away from dueling type builds. I also don't think Zaan would be great for my build because im trying to keep more range, but Balorgh does sound great for lining up burst and It looks like I need to go farm a helm now. Thanks!

I cant go without chudan, the health and resistance bonus helps and you dont need to worry about boundless storm.

I like shacklebreaker and amberplasm. Tri stat glyphs on infused large pieces and triune rings, tri stat food - 40kish magica 27k health 21k stamina, 1300 recoveries. 2500ish crit resistance. 20k+ resistances. 3500 buffed spell dmg. (with the right CP allocation)
