I see some post where people are asking for help with new names for characters. I found a site called Fantasynamegenerators.com. They have an amazing list of real-world names from all countries and fantasy names for a bunch of MMO's. The names are all lore friendly too. They have names for all the races in ESO with a lore story for the races. One thing I never knew about Redguards is they don't have last names and if they do it's because of an event or marriage to another race. The best part is you could mix up first and last names if you want. Now my only question is will ZOS let us use special characters in the names. Some Redguard names have either this ' or this -.

At least some diacriticals are allowed... I have two characters with nearly identical names; one is 'Esme Amell', the other is 'Esmé Amell'.

I have a Redguard stamden called Talia al-Morwha. So special characters are allowed in names, or at least some of them are.

Edit: plus most Argonian names have hyphens, like my warden tank, Stands-In-Stoopid :D

Yeah, they are allowed, ESO is a lot better than many MMOs that only allow letters and no spaces or anything.

A human sorcerer called Amell, is that a Dragon Age fan I spy with my little eye?

How to create the best MMORPG names:

Use super famous names from anime/game characters:

    Sephiroth

Add as much xxx letters at the beginning and end as you find fitting:

    Xxx Sephiroth xxX

Log into your new character. Everybody will admire you for your creativity when it comes to unique naming!

    Heh. You caught me.

She's a really silly character whose personality quirks I got attached to and now use in most games that are even remotely RPG... I've had Esme Amells in Dragon Age, Mass Effect (Commander Esme A. Shepard!), Morrowind, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Online, and now two in ESO.... this is a thing I am totally not sorry for.

I didn't have a problem with "-" but be careful with other language characters. For example my main had a " ü " and couldn't get any invites, it was nightmare. Fortunately ZoS was kind enough to grant me a character name change because of it.

I highly recommend ‘ and - but don’t use accents because it doesn’t always work with invite system as explained above.

My fav name I’ve come up with is a character I can’t get into: Halfdo Z’en the Other

So you probably could do a full on Redguard name like “Frandar do Hunding Hel Ansei No Shira” except not that one because it’s an npc/lore character

I like to use Norwegian names for my Nord characters, and to my pleasant surprise, the diacritical marks used in the Norwegian language are allowed.
