Kind of ironic to post about a scam warning to "not click links" when you have to click a link to read it. (Ya, I clicked on it - then did homework.)

Follow-up on this details that it's a standard phishing attempt, a link which takes you to a website, wherein you need to input your Steam credentials to be "hijacked."

*turns off the alarm bells and flashing red lights*

TL;DR - Don't click on wonky links and give out your login credentials. Carry on, folks.

ATTENTION TO ALL STEAM USERS:
There is a mass highjacking (sic) going on through steam at the moment currently driving support staff crazy due to the number of accounts being jacked. If you see a link with gamebundlex in the link, report it immediately and keep yourself from clicking said link. Upon going to the website, if you are logged in, your account will be hijacked and all of your credentials will be changed. Including your email, phone number, password, and everything else important to keep your account safe will be changed. Spread the word before your friends are infected with this disgusting virus.

Maybe it's a test? If you clicked the link then clearly you need a warning not to click on suspicious links.

We actually do that at my organization. Security sends a phishing attempt. You click, your account gets locked, and you get a (SFW) spanking from security.

There seems to be some misinformation being spread about this supposed scam, and I'm not even sure if this whole thing is a meme or not. I would advise anyone genuinely concerned about the privacy of their steam account to enable 2-factor authentication. I have done my own research, and all I can say is that many people spreading these warnings don't seem to have done the same.
