What even IS beetle scuttle?

Like the picture shows some gooey slimy stuff so.... is it beetle saliva? blood? guts? something else?
Hoping for more playable races

    Well online definitions say scuttle is a shallow basket with a hinged lid or a certain type of hatch on a ship. Beetle scuttle brings up search results pointing back to this game. Beetles often do have armor covers for their wings. If I have to guess, it's the connective tissue from these wing covers where they attach. Or it might be the covers themselves ground up into paste. Or it's just beetle guts and the naming department thought the similar sounding word "scuttle" sounded more alchemy than guts.

    Scuttle sounds like cuttle. Kwama cuttle is a tough, waxy substance that comes from the beak of kwama beasts. They're insectoid too. Maybe it's just a made-up elf thing, since elves are into bugs.

    What is really odd is Scuttle has little or nothing to do with Bugs or Bug Anatomy.

    A scuttle is a scoop for carrying coal, or the amount if coal carried by a scuttle, or the method of deliberately sinking a ship so it can be raised again, or a furtive movement like when sneaking.

    So, based on the above, the Scuttle could be the back of the Carapace that is shaped like a bowl.

    Or, it is a word they pulled out of their own backside.
    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    There are similar foods made from pork or beef: you cook the stringy parts until all the collagen dissolves, then you grind it up and leave it to congeal in cold. ;) The name has likely nothing to do with anatomy, more with the process of preparation, or the container it is prepared in.

    Considering it's name in ESO before Update 6 was Scuttle Meat and it can come from a variety of creatures I suspect the name is generic, like fish. Scuttle isn't a part of an animal but simply food taken from anything which scuttles.

    Which makes beetle scuttle a bit redundant, but so is tuna fish and people say that in real life.
