Steam Trying To Reinstall

Just went to launch the game after todays update but Steams trying to reinstall the entire game.
The games in my library and files still seem to be there but I'm unable to get past it.
Anyone encountered this or know a fix?

✭I have the same problem.
EDIT: I shutdown, rebooted and restarted Steam, then tried to launch the game. It finally went to the ESO launcher and the game updated.
I normally just use ESO.EXE on my desktop to play but updates have to go through Steam, which is the only time I use it.Edited by MrGarlic on February 11, 2019 7:35PMCEO 'Kiwi Farmers' guild.

Parrot1986✭✭✭✭✭Thanks for that, too late to check if it worked, thankfully when I did the reinstall it recognised most of the files and started installing from 80% so didn’t take long.
Still annoying but will keep this handy should it happen again. -

Yes.
I have two accounts, one linked to Steam, the other is not. But in order to update the client I have to load the ESO launcher which requires Steam to load for reasons not obvious.CEO 'Kiwi Farmers' guild.

EU for me and only happened after the maintenance
