Clarifying Elweyr Packages - Upgrades do NOT come with Summerset and Morrowind

Hey everyone. I am seeing a few different threads where people who are upgrading their current accounts to the Elsweyr Chapter are getting Morrowind and Summeret and I wanted to help clarify you are not.

If you DO NOT own the game, and are making a new account, the Standard Elsweyr and Elsweyr Digital Collectors Addition DO come with Morrowind and Summerset, but only if you pre purchase.

If you are currently playing ESO, and have a ESO account, you will be purchasing one of the UPGRADES. The Upgrades do NOT come with Morrowind and Summerset.

The Bundled base game packages are there to help newer players get into the game easier, and have all previous expansions without having to look them all up and add them separately.

I just wanted to help clarify any confusion out there.

Okay, here’s another question for you.

I’ve always bought the physical editions (on console) and as such I’m required to have a disc in the console in order to play it. If I buy the digital upgrade, will I now be able to play without one of my previous discs, or will I still be required to have the disc in?

You will still need the disc. I bought the game originally physical. I have bought everything else digital and I still need the disc. If you have XBOX game pass you dont need the disc currently which is nice.

You can get the bundle including Morrowind and Summerset added to your existing account, but you have to take extra steps.

Here's a Reddit post explaining it, after they contacted support on the matter, and it worked for them (they got Summerset and Morrowind added to their existing account)

Presumably, Summerset (the zone) will become a DLC at some point, and be covered by ESO+ subscription, but that won't be until the actual release of Elsweyr. It's not clear what that would include either. Warden became a separate thing when Summerset was released, and I'm sure some part of Summerset Chapter won't be part of Summerset DLC.

If you normally need a disc and buy an upgrade on PS4 you definitely still need it but you can buy the full digital version to get Morrowind and Summerset free and get rid of the disc. I believe this doesn't work if you already have the digital version unfortunately, it won't let you buy the same game twice.

The Upgrades are for people who already own the base game + old content so you don’t have to repurchase the base game multiple times

Not everyone who owns the game has all the old content, for example people who stopped playing early on and are now coming back. The full version is cheaper than buying all three upgrades.

Why would they not want to support old users like that? Why not just give the digital upgrade with the other to stories? i don't understand at all...
