So I noticed a thing.

Why is it that every Man and Mer Race has neatly tailored smooth black underwear, while Argonians and Khajiit get sun dried Seaweed wraps?

Could be that the typical undies in tamriel are leather, thus being offensive to to the walking rugs and purses... o:)

Edit: due of course to the well known Bosmer monopoly that cornered the undergarment market in a not so veiled attempt to end the slaughter of jute for clothing purposes. You know, green pact and all...

I would assume it's to account for the tails poking out the back. If they were to wear tiny briefs like the tail-less races their entire hind would end up visible. While that's appealing for some, I can see why ZoS'd like to avoid it.

I absolutely HATE those silly shorts on male beast races. Why do they get the silly shorts when everyone else gets relatively small 'smalls'? The bather's towel, for example, looks just silly with the shorts poking out the bottom. I'd love to see these redone.

RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

I for onw would love to see ALL redone.
I don't like the "modern" looking underwear at all, and would love to have different options there... not that its a big thing, since my characters usually run around in armor (tho I wish there were opportunities where it might be favorable to actually take that off, like for swimming... and I don't just mean the one achievement, nor the other one, but... more of a general thing where you get penalized for swimming in full armor, and have to make a choice between protection and swim speed for example...)

Anyhow, I for one would love to have -options- there.
Now, I can see how the powers that be might like to avoid some historical accuracy for medieval style underwear (hint - bras were not really a thing in those eras) due to modern day prudeness (altho the rating of the game... well... it would allow for it, just sayin).
But I really would love to have some -choice- options here! Let barbarian characters have leopard skin loincloths! Have commoners use linen wraps! Let nobles use silk unmentionables! And so on, give people an option to match their underwear to their outfit and whatnot!
It would be so easy... just add a third tab to the "costume dye" selection of the outfit stations, that one for "underwear", and have it work like the outfit style... ESO+ members could then dye their undies, and even get different styles... unlocking some "racial", and buying some in the crown store (You know we would, ZOS!), and getting some as achievement rewards...

Actually, bras did exist in medieval times. Just not many have survived to the present day.

modern day bra's were not a thing, but its a fantasy game in a non-earth world so whatever.
but woman have been using cloth to create some type of breast support since the dawn of time. Mostly for practical reasons.
Can't run away from tha danger if your waterbags are dancing all over the place, ya get me? And they dance a whole lot more irl than they do in this game if not properly supported. In this game they don't bounce like they would if they were the useless waterbags they are.Instead they act like there is actual muscle in there. Which makes the armor people wear behave like armor and not cloth painted to look like armor.

all in all, ZoS took the middle road between realism and coding practicality.

Khajiit and Argonian males have a large "sheath" that their "tool" comes out of. So the larger underwear is needed
