altmer vs. breton vs. khajiit brass tacks

dumb it down for me please. no complicated numbers. Now, I don't particularly care about going full meta with my character, but I do want my sorc to at least feel useful in its capacity. I've all sorts of posts, but not a clear answer, which one of the 3 races is the best for mag dps, if the pts changes go live?

i've seen people say Breton, some Khajiit is way ahead, then other says the changes to altmer are negligible.

Altmer is top DPS in organized groups. Breton is better for unorganized groups, and lower skilled players. Kajit is inconsistent, and can be higher or lower depending on luck, but also allows you to switch to Stam and perform equally. Ultimately the difference won't be enough to worry about anyway.

I mean 1k dps in noticeable, 100 dps is nothing, susmitds tests show that all magicka races are almost balanced for organized groups.

You can basicly go any of the three listed above. The difference is not big enough to make one of them feel not useful.

Breton is the safest bet, good sustain via racials mean you can spec your gear and enchants mostly into damage

If that is what the data actually shows then sure I will say Bretons are top for MagSorc. Unlike some people I go off facts.

Yeah, that's why I added the edit, which your quote didn't catch, saying that ultimately it won't matter.

I will agree with this. All of the magicka parses, Breton felt significantly easier than the rest. I find it funny that people are crying over maximum possible DPS. The tests literally happened in very controlled situations. Outside the top groups, realistically you won't see them ever. It is in these situations that the Breton performs best. It is small but you can definitely feel the effect of it.
The easy way to understand this is see the similar situation on live with Redguard vs Khajiit. Khajiit should be best DPS on paper but realistically Redguard is miles ahead.

Rotation mastery far and away larger concern. Khajiit DPS requires better rotation mastery as crit focus already introduces significant variability at expense of sustain.

If you are at all concerned about rotation, go altmer for damage, breton for sustain/survivability.

It’s far more than rotation mastery. Khajiit and Altmer share the issue of lacking sustain. Khajiit get the trade off of high crit, Altmer get damage, but Breton can make up for the damage because they don’t invest so much in sustain so it leaves Altmer in a weird spot.
