Accidentally stealing Items hung behind guild traders

Zos can you PLEASE get rid of the option to steal the items behind the guild traders, each time I go to search for something I'm bombarded by 10 guards because I stole a fish which was hanging right by the traders head!

I'm convinced this will end cryodiil lag and should be your top priority!

    This is the sole reason I have the Azurah addon installed.... otherwise I'm constantly accidentally stealing things.

    It's annoying, but I find it too hilarious to want it removed. Right up there with watching newcomers to the game trying to fight the guards.

    Agree :D I fell so many times for it and the day i accepted it as funny was the last day i accidently stole an item ;)

    And somehow I have not has this issue in a long time. idk if it is I target the trader better or do not rush though pressing buttons since it takes more than one button press to steal an item, at least if you do not have auto steal on.

    FWIW I have auto loot set for all except stolen items. For stolen I have to manually take them.

    Ok but: how are you “accidentally” stealing items each time you go to a guild trader?

    Isn't there an option to disable that in settings? Or is it just for the autoloot? I know you can prevent attacking innocents.

    Judging how often these guards are running after me daily basis during my shopping rounds, I started to call these guards as my "Combat Pets". They are reliable, they always follow me and got me in their sight. :D

    Traders, crafting stations and writ turn-ins are hotspots for accidental kleptomania. I really hate it when I’m in these areas going about my business and a Sorcerer and their extended family stands next to me. The damn hit boxes of both their combat and non-combat pets always nudge me into clicking “red” items. Who would have thought that a cute porcine can lead to a criminal record?

    I love it, it makes game more lively, when you see how guards are clawing and chaining some newbie :D or to run away myself

    It takes exactly one keypress to steal a freely lying/hanging item. It's a bit inconvenient when the NPC you want to talk to steps aside.

    There is no such option. Autoloot is for looting containers/corpses.

    Guards don't attack for stealing a single item. They just approach you for a friendly talk. :) You tried to escape paying fines. How dared you! :open_mouth:

    PS This feature must stay. It's too fun to watch all those people being chased around cities.

    And also remember if you flee enough times there is an achievement for it
    Also if you pay enough in fines but not nearly as fun
