Maelstrom Styles

So I've been told that these Maelstrom sets are impossible to get for tanks and the sets aren't really worth the effort. This is just what I heard.
Whatever the case, what's the reason we can't learn to craft Winterborn, Maelstrom or Refabricated styles? It's such a shame whole sets of great-looking armor and weapons are wasted on equipment (almost) nobody seems to use. That Mealstrom shield would look fantastic on my Engine Guardian outfit! I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way so I made a post to see if other people would agree and would like to see these styles "liberated" from their clunky sets.

I support your idea ... but with the caveat that you unlock the style when you loot the gear piece during a Maelstrom run. This ensures that players who have cleared vMA are the only ones that can use the vMA weapon style. It also enables you to get the full Winterborn style on only a handful of runs in normal Maelstrom.
Though the reply from @KhajiitFelix was abrasive and slightly demeaning ... it does carry a subtle point: Players can get a vMA clear in most any damage dealing class with the appropriate gear and willingness to practice. Even Warden leaderboard scores have improved remarkably from two summers ago.
To extend the idea further, Dragonstar Arena and Blackrose Prison styles should also be an unlock when you loot the gear piece. I would love to apply my Master’s Restoration Staff style to other staves my characters currently wield.

It might even make the different Arena modes rise in popularity again. Make old(er) content a bit refreshing in a way. I'm sure the veterans of this game would like some new things to collect.
