Honestly, I wouldn't need keen eyes at all.
First, I know all the spawn points from my favourite gathering spots.
Second, the mats *look* different than the surrounding area (I disabled grass) and can be seen from far away, if you set your rendering distance to a higher level.

I'm already in full graph don't worry about that.
But I'm gonna try to remove grass, thx for the tips.
Anyway, if we've this option in game, why not use it ? Atm the only problem is the range imo.
40m is to short, 50-60 would be better.
On console yes to increase range. I would like to be able to choose the color of the keen since console can not disable grass in setting, plus I really would not want to anyway. The keen eye gets washed out in the snow areas sometimes, which is why I would like to choose colors like we do for combat since us poor peasants have to spend those skill points on keen eye.
Hello,
1st : I don't have find a Suggestion category in the forum, so I put that here, sorry if it's not the place.
2sd : Yes, I know about Harvest Map addon, but to me it's like a cheat (you don't have to use skill point) and it's ugly (don't get me wrong, I don't blame anyone using this addon)
So, since I've max all Kee Eyes, I notice that the rang of the last level is very weak : 40meter only.
It's why I would ask to ZoS if they can buff it in the future ?
I'll put 2 screen, where you can see how it's short.
In the screen you'll see : 1 thief chest, we can see it from very far and on the second, much closer you will see 1 piece of wood (and like 2m further theeir is 2 plant than we can't see because of the very limited range of Keen eyes)
Also, it's the max range in the second screen, if I go back from 1 step, light disappear !
I've test in other direction too because of the little wall who can break LoS ; same thing.
As you can see, there is a huge difference and that why it should be buff imo to make it more useful and appealing.
Edit :
Also, one last suggestion :
- Why not add a "Keen eyes" like in Legerdemain tree for reveal chest in the world / dungeon ?
What do you think guys ?
Have a nice day everyone !

Do people actually waste points in these? Most I ever used was one point as it is such an unnecessary perk.

Oh how many times I've stomped on poor Mountain Flower while running for Bugloss 50m away...VaranisArano wrote: »I have grass turned off, but Mountain Flower in particular blends into the landscape.
What a horror![*] Makes the evening landscape look like a Christmas tree!
If you have alot of skillpoints keen eyes is still not a bad passive. Makes night picking completly brainless.
However the distance seems far enough ready and I suspect increasing it more would run into rendering issues. I am a max setting everything player and only those items at the very edge of me view field fail to highlight with keen vision.
This leads me to believe it would take a good bit more to code than just a simple distance modifier, a good bit more rendering to increase distance would be required.

I cant help running to each glowing spot and the next thing I know, Im on the opposite side of the zone from the survey I was going for! But I have so many adventures and see so many crazy character players that I would lean towards a greater distance view.
