Not sure why weapons don't drop from dungeons etc in nirn.

Sure, we can transmute, but what's the reason it doesn't drop in all content?

They should just scrap the requirement for all the other trait items.

    All armor except Fort Nirn
    All weapons except Pot Nirn
Robust / Arcane / Healthy should also not require the trait item to craft.

The traits themselves aren't scrapped, you just simply do not require to have the trait item anymore to make the item once it is researched.

Have nirn uniquely tied to Crag and all the other Jewelry traits are uniquely tied to certain tasks.

Because ZOS had some ideas...some REALLY bad ideas back when Craglorn was released. They did 180 on most of them snce then...but "nirnhoned" is still one remnant of those obsolete times.

    Its time to change it.

    Basic functionality shouldnt be "rarer".

Is nirnhoned basic functionality? Or is it a special trait obtained from one of the rarest materials in Tamriel?

I'd consider jewelery crafting a more basic function -- pfff  current only a basic, yet arduous grind.

There is a reason why everyone hates Craglorn...its extremely badly done zone.

    I don't.

I actually like Craglorn. I liked old Craglorn, I liked it when they softened it to make it more solo friendly -- I still like Craglorn. The 'group' delves are good for higher-level players to solo, the WBs are a fun way to kill 5 minutes... the zone has a lot to offer; rewards are ***.

I would like ZoS, knowing what they do now, to revisit the Adventure Zone concept -- I'd like to see a proper end-game zone designed around increased challenge on solo and group content; buffed delves and public dungeons, tough AF overland mobs and actually worth your while daily quests -- but better rewards

This. I finally got around to playing through Craglorn on my Magblade not long ago and while I was able to solo pretty much everything, it was still a challenge. I appreciated it and found myself wishing they'd find a way to add some challenge to the new zones like Craglorn.

Apologies if I’ve missed your point as to why nirnhoned should be available everywhere but I don’t get why it should?
Yes Craglorn being a group activity zone was unfortunately a failure, it pretty much died as an adventure zone. This was changed to make it a solo adventure zone. Great, good stuff. This was the main point for Craglorns “failure” as people would only use it for trials, dsa and farming nirncrux. Now it’s used for the above three and completionist who want to get the quest achievements etc, adding nirncrux to other areas will ruin Craglorn further and probably make the starter zones more packed with farmers than they currently are

So many falsehoods in this thread

I've been playing since beta. Was here before and after the changes to Craglorn.

First, Craglorn didn't almost kill the game.
Vet leveling and faction locking in PvE zones almost killed the game after mandatory subs almost killed the game. Other zones were plenty busy while Craglorn was dead.

Craglorn was a forced group zone and it was a vet 14 zone when max level was vet 16. Because of this Craglorn was a dead zone except for nirn farmers. People did not want to be forced to group for zone questing content. Also the rewards were lackluster, lower level stuff.

I spent ton of time farming nirn for trait research. There was always tons of farmers. Node PvP was strong.

Fortified nirn drops more often than potent so it's cheaper. It's also a very seldom used trait, pretty much worthless. It sells for around 900 gold currently. I can remember it selling for at least 5-7K at one point.

Potent nirn is actually used in builds these days and it sells for 8-9K currently when it used to sell for 25-30K.

Prices have dropped for a few reasons.

First was the sheer amount of farmers made it much more available.

Second, most people got done with needing it as much for research so it's demand dropped.

Lastly, transmutation circumvented the need for potent somewhat, but in combination with that is the fact that dropped sets are often more desirable for end game/meta builds than crafted sets.

    Transmutation does not consume nirncrux.
I think you can use a transmuted item for research (?), however deconning a transmuted item does not give nirncrux as someone stated. ZoS did not was that to be a source of nirncrux.

Nirn used to only drop in upper Craglorn. The pvp in pve phenomenon prompted ZoS to allow it to drop in lower Craglorn.

In any case, I think nirncrux should stay in Craglorn because it's the only place it's found storywise. But I do think they could increase the drop rate a bit since it's hay day is pretty much over.

Whilst that would be nice, I’d Just like the damned stuff to drop more IN Craglorn.

The rarity of nirncrux is kind of the driving force behind much of what is going on in Craglorn. like diamonds IRL, it makes sense to me too that this highly rare, sought after and valuable resource is not common everywhere. But the frequency of it in Craglorn should outweigh other materials to make up for that.

diamond are not rare n real life. they are quite common. point in fact the world wide supplier of diamonds in the real world controls the flow of diamonds to the people so they can control the price. diamods are so common that if they were released in masse to the market that they would be one of the least precious gem stones. colored gems are much more rare.

I think it's good that you can know where to find it.

For example alchemy materials. You're looking for certain ingredients but they are just seem randomly scattered all over the place. Well, some are close to water for example, but besides from that there's not really an option to farm a particular ingredient... not like rubedo hide... hides you can just go to a location where there spawn a lot of animals that drop it.

Places with higher concetration of certain things that you're looking for is a good thing if you're out for farming it.

Since transmutation I almost never need to create something with Nirn on it. Very rare for me at least. I have 100s of them that never get used.

By like 90% of logic we should get honing stones while mining dreugh wax from killing dreughs dwarven oil from anything dwemer... gem stones shoulds drop from the mining ore rather than refining it... wood shouldn't drop gems, probly need a totally different temper for golding clothes who waxes a silk robe? Have like finest threads for a golding mat Would help dry up the dead dreugh wax market. Wood is fine for most part other than turpen and rosin irl coming mainly from pine trees.
Lastly doing all that would make nirn from crag make sense

We have recently removed a great deal of baiting and insulting commentary from this thread. While it is perfectly fine to disagree, name calling and personal attacks are inappropriate. As the thread has derailed and hasn't been terribly constructive, we have gone ahead and closed it down. Thank you for your understanding.
