Can you leave the Thieves Guild?

I know there are useful passives and skill points in the quests but I’m trying to play a ‘good’ character, so don’t want the Thieves Guild skill line. However, I’m new and didn’t realise just opening a box (not even stealing from it) would unlock the skill line. Is there any way to get rid of the skill line now without rerolling?

    Once unlocked, I don't believe there's a way to re-lock a skill line.

That doesnt make you a member of the Guild though. You have to do the quest with Quen for that.

Just because the skill line is visible to you does not mean you have to put points into it.

Just don't put any points in and you'll be fine.

I think opening a thieves trove just makes the skill line visible and shows you can open thieves troves. you technically have certain skill lines but they are invisible until you do something to make appear.

think about it as sort of legerdemain. you can unlock it by breaking into a house and looting someone else's closets... or you can unlock it being being a virtual archaeologist and opening abandoned chest out in a wild. there is nothing dishonest about opening an abandoned chest. and there ARE honest locksmiths out in a world who make keys and break into locks at request of the owners of those locks, so.. you could always think of it as just survival skill your character picked up to keep them from getting locked out of their own house :)

The Thieves Guild isn't necessarily evil. It's the Dark Brotherhood you should be wary of.

Once I kill the nearby owners, every chest I find is abandoned!

I applaud your playstyle. I started out that way but i was not strong. I gave into lust and greed. I have even kill people and liked it.

So you aren’t going to open any locked chests at all? As this levels your legerdemain as well.

I mean I guess I don’t really understand the “rp” stuff but wouldn’t a good character be about how you act, not who you are associated with.

Also there’s a lot of grey areas in quests if this is an issue already then prepare for hell, because sometimes neither of the two solutions are what most would consider “good”

Wait till you see what you have to do in the mages guild to get a couple of skill points lol.

In fact some quests require you to choose 1 person to die or another. Who do you save? Who is “goodER”

At least in darkfall covenant they are I assume the potato alliances have this as well?
