Oh and while we're at it, for the love of the Divines can we have some NEW EYEBROWS??? Well over half of them are JUST HORRIBLE! Some of them have good shapes but are so large and furry looking that it ruins them! Seriously, we need NEW ones!

Need to break up adornments, scars, makeup eyes, make up lips, earrings, face jewelry into seperate categories

Facial hair needed to be broken up into, eyes, eyelashes, horns, beards, moustaches

Instsantly improved the customization of the game.

Also fix more hats to reflect hair style rather than stuff everything up into hat or bald

My girlfriend has 2 or 3 Bretons and even after appearance changes they still look identical in terms of the face. I think it needs a rework

Now, ideally, I would like character generation itself expanded and things like facial hair, scars and makeup all separated out into their own categories. It's just silly to have to chose between makeup and a scar or facial hair and an earring! Same with tattoos, they definitely rate their own category.

From the perspective of reality it's silly. But there's a good technical reason for this.

Your suggestion would result in more bandwidth required to play the game and more strain on the servers.

Every bit of information about every character's appearance needs to be transmitted to every player who can see them.

Your suggestion would take 1 bit of info and separate it out into several. Individually that would be tiny but multiply by every player online by every other player they can see and that adds up to a lot.

Or at least give us the option to change the appearance in the first 3 days after we have created a new character, this way we can the opportunity to see our character in different light conditions and try many changes until we are happy with their looks. Also, the camera in character creation is bad, after spending nearly an hour to create a character and jumping into the game I realized that the neck was too thick so I had to delete and start over.

It's one of the things I hated most about the game when I started playing.

I spent 6 weeks creating and deleting characters - because of the 3 max and 1 regen per day character deletion - trying to get my characters to look right actually in the game.

Now I know about the PTS and effectively free, unlimited character edits but new players don't and very serious problems like this make very bad impressions on new players.

Which obviously is very bad for their bank balance. Cos instead of playing and enjoying the game and spending money on it, they exit and uninstall it. That's what I did. Admittedly not just because of this - there was also the nightmarish inventory management situation. But this definitely contributed to the decision to cancel my sub.

That's something they should have thought about from jump and made allowances for. As important as game mechanics are I feel like they utterly fail to realize how important character appearance is to players. More people than not (imo) will not play a game where they can't come up with a character they like the look of. Same reason why I'm still so baffled as to why the hair is so very BAD in this game.

And here you kinda make my point for me. You couldn't get a character you liked the look of. So you quit. Which is, I feel, perfectly legit. ZOS needs to realize that character aesthetics do not consist solely of nifty armor styles. We have a tremendous amount of armor styles to choose from now. We should have AT LEAST as many new hairstyles to choose from!

Bretons DO suffer from "potato face" and it drives me crazy since they are my favorite race. I have TWO I am happy with the look of. If they WERE to do a rework I think they'd need to make sure they simply ADDED options and did not take any of the current ones away though. The real "supermodels" of this game (in terms of humans anyway) are the Imperials. But, alas, they lack the gorgeous hair and eye colors of the Bretons. THAT needs to change as well! I want a hair color unlock!!! As well as an eye color and skin color unlock!

@MornaBaine - the issue with long hair is how bad it clips with everything: staff, shield, chest gear.... In Skyrim you can get a really great hair mod, one of them is a braid so long it clips through your mount.

Some of the "a bit longer" hairs in game already cause issues with shields.... Now if they got it together so that you could choose not to display armor pieces (like shields), then I'd be all for it.

I'd actually be okay with hairstyles no longer than the very longest ones currently in game. We just need a whole lot MORE of them. Right now we have 3-5 and one of those is a bit longer than the others. And while I love the Dominion Warlocks it gives your character a HUGE forehead due to its bizarre recedeing hairline. There are other hairstyles in the game with great hairlines and that frame the face nicely, but are absolutely hideous from the back and look like they have been trimmed with a weedwhacker. AND they are too short. There is still a LOT they could do to give us MUCH BETTER and expanded hair choices with even a half way competent dev. And it's well past time they did so.

Character Creation needs a major overhaul, no matter what settings I use, they all look (facial features) exactly the same

I'd actually have to disagree here. Use the slider and go all the way towards the 3 points of the triangle, heroic, soft and angular. You'll see a pretty big difference in these 3 "bases." The shifts between them though are far more subtle, granted.

    You mean...
    c90.png
    :p;):D

That perfectly sums up my experience with any char creation in any game! :D I sit for 1 hour slaving over a face, drop them into the game, and then reject them 2 minutes in because the nose looks off or the mouth is crooked. My Bosmer char took about 4 tries and 1 appearance change token to get right. And I still can't seem to create a Dunmer I like after about 6...and I think eso's char creation is pretty decent compared to some other games!

I totally agree that we need more, better hairs! My nord main has the long straight style and it looks good, but I've always dreamed of giving her one that more fully captures that nordic barbarian spirit: long and full and wavy with multiple braids. I have a similar prob with my Bosmer and her short, messy hair: That came from the Crown Store (Long Wild Locks) as none of the char creation options offered the same look.

I also think we need some better designs for face and body markings as I find the vast majority eso has right now unsightly and repetitive. Maybe if they could add some face paints that look like some of the choices you had in Skyrim like three slashes across the face or a hand print over one eye or a horizontal stripe across the eyes. My nord has to do with the Dragonbone Chain marking, which I was lucky enough to get from a free Crown Crate. And more body markings like the Chest or Wrap-around Wyrms.
