Can you hide your level and CP

I started a new character for a dumb reason - I want the white dye you get from a max vampire. So I've been knocked out, sent to coldharbor, and want to level to 10 so I can go to cyradil when I get out and pick up easy skill points. While I am farming daedras, a male character pops in and is really going to town on the mobs. Obviously nightblade using duel wield and teleport strike. But REALLY moving fast. It was kind of annoying because it was hard to get in hits, or even find a target before he leaped on them.
So I decided to see what level he was.
The only thing the name showed was Dremora Churl
No level. No CPs.
I didn't think you could hide your level.
Any idea what I encountered?

✭✭✭✭✭If it said Dremora Churl it means your target reticle wasn't aiming at the player, but a Dromora Churl enemy near him/her. Either that, or the UI bugged and kept showing your previous target.Edited by MLGProPlayer on January 25, 2019 7:17AM0 -

Yes, talked to an NPC in Murkmire mouse over named him lizard with 1 hp, it was an critter behind him.I'd guess that you only saw the name of the dead daedra. The targeting system sometimes behaves strangely. You think you are pointing at another player, but the game claims, you are not.
First thought was that it was an bug.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

The targeting in terms of players and NPCs is extremely ridiculous in this game; you can be standing next to an NPC and point your camera way up and to the side, or be pointing it directly at another character (whether another NPC or a PC), and be shown the name of the one you're standing next to still.
