UPDATE: I wrote this while drunk and mad as hell. I apologise for my tone

Holy mother of god. I justt spent the last 4 hrs to get the AP points needed to get my weekly points. Ive been "zerg surfing" and my team has been losing since we started. I freaking HATE this *** , is there any way to go around this and get my points without getting messed with 4 hours straight?

Spent 2 hours last night just running around solo mostly retaking resources around keeps with the occasional skirmish and keep defense.

Had some 200k+ AP when i logged off ...

Mistake #1: You're in a zerg. Get out of it. Do your own thing.

It took THAT long to get 20k AP? Taking keeps is 6k, resources 1.5k, and towns 1.5k. Repairing can get you 1k per wall depending on how much needs repairing. Just being around a keep being defended also gets ya AP, as well as damaging/killing/healing players. I’m shooketh it actually took you that long.

Agree 100% I solo all the time. Kill players, cap rss, watch map and get in on defense/capture of keeps etc.

That is a very bad advice, especially for a unexped PvPer.
Inexperienced players will hardly close any kills alone and they will even struggle to flip a res alone. That way it would literally take him 4 hrs to make 50k AP.
He needs not to join zerg group, but surf it in solo mode, spam mutagen and put out as much dps into enemy as he possibly can from the safety of the zerg. Pay attention to the map when keeps are UA or attacked by your faction, go there and do as above mentioned. That will net you 50k/h easy and can be done by unexped PvPer.

Going off solo and trying to fight people (and losing) will teach them precisely nothing. It is bad advice. The OP said nothing about wanting to be able to win random, pointless fights for epeen; the only thing they want is to get more AP, and that is rarely a result of actually being good at PvP - this is not duels or BG's, it's siege warfare and numbers win.

Successful captures and defenses, which Cyrodiil is built around, is the fastest way to earn AP and you can't do that solo. That's typically fighting lots of people while in a large group (unless you take something undefended), which is exactly how they should be learning what this game type is about.

Two Keep captures, including AP from fighting, repairs, and resources, can be enough (or nearly) to get Rank 1. The problem is simply that the OP was with a zerg that failed and couldn't pull that off.

if you've spent some time in cyro, no doubt you've come across situations where your alliance is simply outnumbered and getting their butt kicked (although that can lead to some juicy d-ticks)...

it can also be a pain if the map has really low pops and nothing is flipping anywhere, or, if your alliance has most of the map already flipped...

the key is having a bit of patience and either riding out the low AP payouts, or, try again later in the day or the next day altogether...

for casual pvpers keep/resource/outpost/town capture and defense is the way to go...
    giphy.gif

like someone mentioned earlier - get a resto staff and spam the heck out of it, a few ranged aoe and direct damage skills, some wood and mason repair kits and have at it...

Maybe if you see the leader of the zerg is pants, create your own group, make a 8+ man and go to the opposite direction
Is not like Cyrodiil is a small place to not been able to support more than 1 groups per alliance.

You're assuming this person is interested in pvping. As the person below you said. Their only interest was getting AP to get to tier 1 for the rewards.

Just repair walls in keeps that far from main battles. It takes about 10-20 min for 1 tier and involves no rng and pvp.

Yes, had couples bad zergs who keept wiping on the same keep over and over.
Usualy its very fast to get to level 1 and tend to get to 2 or 3 during a play session.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

When you're in a zerg the ap is shared.

Kill a player on your own, get 500 to 1.5k AP
Kill a player with 10 people, get 50 to 150 AP
Kill a player with 20, get 25 to 76 AP

The more people are attacking that player, the less AP you get.

The only thing you don't share is resources and keeps, no matter how many players participate, you always get at least 1.5k AP per resource.

So, in short, if you want to zerg surf, go cap resources.

Capping keeps also works, but takes longer if there's someone defending (and you steal sieges from each other instead of putting down more).

Or repair walls, that's a steady source of AP (20 AP per single repair).

In addition to that, if you're farming AP, always make sure to go into a delve first and kill a boss, that gives you an AP bonus buff.
