PTS Housing Memory Cap ( Not Item Limit Cap )

Lord_Mirto

I have tried on PTS and it seems that there is a set amount of memory allocated per house. By removing high detailed / animated items I can get to the max allotted furnishings. But if I leave the " Nice Stuff " out and in the house I run out of the allotted space of memory before I reach the item cap. How ever, this is the PTS server and there is no indication that this will happen on the live server.

Things for our future of decorating our homes is not looking good. Nothing has been mentioned by ESO about this, BUT, Warning, watch out for what may be coming. In PTS at the Chateau which is full at 700 furniture slots, I remove 3 items to see how 3 different items would look, so I removed the items to place the 3 new items, HOWEVER even though I now have 3 empty slots available I can't fill them as I have reach the Chateau's memory allocations. It said to alleviate the memory problem to remove more items which I did as after all I was only in PTS. Now I have empty 10 furniture slots I am unable to place any items in as I have reached the memory allocations for the Chateau. When we get the new dungeons or the new DLC and this is part of that, BE CAREFUL about what you remove from you homes, you may not be able to put anything back in its place nor will you be able to replace the items you removed.

That is past stupid. I have 24GB memory so that should be the memory limit.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The Memory Allocation is a set pool. It is not based on Hard Drive or Ram or video Ram . It appears to be a set amout of GAME allocated memory allotment. I tested this by removing all adons to see if it was LUA memory, No change. I also tried lowing my Video settings to minimum and still same results.

while this may seem horrifying, it may simply be a low initial memory allocation that will then be pushed. Hopefully, it is simply a diagnostic tool they are trying out so they can determine if house item limits can be raised or somehow adjusted.

I simply cant imagine they would push something live that would render homes unable to be fully decorated. If they are messing about with some kind of memory allocation that is determined on a house by house basis, that may mean they are looking into item limits specific to each house, or a new item limit tier system from the one we have currently.

I choose to have faith that they are at least looking into it. Issues on the PTS are generally just testing issues. Sometimes bugs make it to live, but this doesnt seem like a bug, it seems more like an experiment.
